12 day old seedlings are slowing down

All of my ten plants look like this. Nice green colour, no weird stuff, but first off - aren't they a little tiny for being 12 days? Also they seem to have slowed down radically. Up until now I have always been amazed when entering the growspace, but now not alot happens. I'm worried, these are my last C99 seeds :?

They are placed under 400w MH in a cooltube. I just read about how the growth may stunt if such strong light is too close, so now the light is about 3ft up but for the last two or three days I tried having it 1-1,5ft away. Could that have caused the slowdown? Or does the pot look too small for these plants?

I can't see any roots from the bottom of the pot because someone told me to put these "leca" in the bottom and they are in the way, cant see anything.

They are growing in a mix of soil, perlite and vermiculite. I have a fan aimed at the plants. The temperature is 80F and humidity 65-70. The growspace is ventilated with inline fan, carbon filter, passive air intake.

Is there a need to be worried yet? Any tips? Thanks very much..

Yeah, that's about how mine looked. I was worried too, because you always hear about how fast it grows, so you kinda expect it to grow like Jack and The Beanstalk. LOL!!

If anything, this is teaching me patience. :hump:

I know. I kinda did the same thing... comparing my plants to other people's. But it seems like you can't do that, because each person's growing conditions are a bit different, ya know? Hell, I've got plants that look nothing like each other and they are all in the same house! Some are taller with further spaced nodes than others.

But I understand the desire to compare plants... I sometimes still do it since I'm still a newbie. LOL!!

Ok, check this out. Now they're almost 4 weeks old. Seriously, shouldn't they be alot bigger in size by now? Ok obviously they ARE growing, I can see this, but man I really think something is wrong. Can someone calm me down? :)

I think you are right that they are a little small for their size. Do you still have your light 3 ft or 1.5 ft away? The first thing I'm thinking is that they aren't getting enough light.

Hi Picasso, I have the cooltube about 2 ft away from the plants, 400w MH. I really dont know how close I should have it, but since people with way smaller lamps outgrow my plants big time I don't think this is the main problem. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Could be a nutrient deficiency problem... I could be wrong though

Okie okie. Two days ago I started giving them nutes at halfstrength. I'm going to lower the light alot and raise the humidity to about 85%. Just to see what the hell happens.

Lower your lights and flush them with fresh water (5.5-6.0 PH). Make sure the temp doesn't go above 84 degrees and the humidity level stays around 50 to 65 percent. I had the same problem a while back ago and this took care of it. It could also just be a bad seed or strain. This should work..

I added nutes two days ago because the bottom leaves were yellowing. A nitrogen deficiency. Are you sure I'm supposed to flush them already?

i think you should stop misting them... more water they get, less roots they need to put down to look for the water.. misting them is a way of watering... there small so light seem fine.. if they needed more they would strech... what strain is the plant.. how much do you water? are you feeding them? when was the last time you repotted?

waiting for the seedlings to grow at the stage they are at now is long but once they start to grow they'll grow fast

I chuckle a little when someone posts pics of a plant that has the first leaves after the 'seed leaves'

Its *too soon to tell anything* let 'em grow a bit and show their genetics.

Ask the Qs *after* the first couple of internodes. During that 'wait' do a search and read the FAQ. You got a TON of time up to then.

Am's I off base on this?
