2 things:

- i think the foliar feed is causing the yellowing

- you defol too much imo :D
i have stopped the foliar. got it figured out but waiting for the recovery. runoff ppm was incredibly high. flushed, flushed some more and then flushed some more. lockout was wreaking havoc in there. flushed with 350 ppm nutrients and shop vac'd the saucers for what seemed like hours lol. it was a rough day. res is now set for 600 ppm of jacks and calnit at 5.8 and will be adding some sm90 because of all the heavy watering and want to avoid any root rot issues. at this point i think its a matter of a week or so before they pull out of this rut.

Sorry you're having these issues brother. I love the ppk setups though. Some day I may attempt a ppk build. The ideas behind delta's recirc reservoirs is pretty slick.

Passive plant killer

Usually it's a 2 pot system. One on top that holds media and roots with a tube stuffed with perlite that hangs into the second pot below the first. This is a wick that moves the perched water table below the root zone.

Usually a certain water level is fine tuned in the bottom pots and they're linked together so the water can flow through the bottom tubing. The top is drip fed and as it does pulls new O2 into the root zone. But moisture is always maintained thanks to the tube/wick.

Haha jeez thanks for clarification. So one more question. Why in the world would one use such a complicated system in lieu of rdwc or ebb and gro buckets?

Once setup it can be left alone for a month or two if you wanted to. Delta on icmag describes the possibilities of ppk. It is a very forgiving system and in the event of power failure the plants can stay alive pretty much indefinitely
