12k mini split is it enough?please help

will it be enough for x4 1000w hps air cooled 2 lights per 8 inch fan in sealed room? its a 8x10x8 basement below grade??does the 3500-4000btu per 1k still apply?

I doubt it will be enough. Is there a reason you don’t go bigger they are still efficient if you over size them. And the it’s usually only a couple hundred more the next size up.

When I ran a 4K room I did a 24k btu mini split and it was just enough. My room wasn’t air cooled but honestly those air cooled hoods don’t get rid of as much heat as you think and you lose more yield than you think as well.

I’d say 18k min for the air cooled, but I’d go 24k btu if it was me, it’s always better to have a little extra.

No the lights alone néed 13k bare min you need at least 24k

Many of us here have learned the hard way that you cannot skimp on the AC indoors.

When I ran 4400w Single Ended bulbs I was running two 15k BTU window units. I could have got away with 2 12k units, but fact is, I'd have been beyond fucked if I only had a single 15k unit.

man thats way to much light i got the same room size with 4 600w cool tubes with intake outside outtake outside (so i dont suck my cool air out)and a 5k window unit keeps it 80 in summer i have to turn down my lights constantly because of the leafs getting bleached on some strains anyone else ever noticed a sensitivity to light having a correlation to resin production the ones that start bleaching are the ones that produce the most resin(thc) in my experience(p.s. my cousin does hvac he says if you oversize your unit it wont run long enough to dehumidify so it will be 70 but still be nasty wet in your house)

How about a 24k window banger? my budget isnt much right now or i would definately go with something better. looking to get a quick run in and invest as I go

A 24k window banger will do the job as long as your not worried about a little bit of smell getting out.

Get a mini-split from Gree. I bought a 24k for like $1,500 online last year. It cost about $600 to have installed. It is AMAZING! A Quest 70 dehumidifier would resolve any humidity issues.

If it's below zero outside, you may need to heat the room at that point! Gree has an AC/heat combo for both.
