12x12 bedroom grow...need help with light & vent setup

I would think there wasn't much difference between a well set up 400w grow or a 1k. 40's are able to be closer to the plants, r less expensive, cheaper to replace, and so on. 1k's have to be further away. I'm thinking that the distance equals or almost equals out the effect on a grow? I'm reading the grow bible and it leans toward 600's over the 1k's, and that 3 400's offer better "point of light" distribution than 1 1k. Just that the sixes are hard to find. 1k's may be betterb in the case of plants being grown to 5 and six feet from a pre-veg state. Just some thoughts. Godd Luck

I think I must run ext cord for lights...My dryer outlet is downstairs from the growroom...I plan on drilling holes in the floor and running ext cords to a 240v powerbox...I currently grow with 1 400w and am pretty proud of the results, but Im always trying to do better and I want to make sure this operation is done right...thanks to cutaftacut for leaning me back towards 400's...still not certain yet.

IT'S A WEED you got a grand you wana spend all that on light's and nutrents and soil. get your insulation second hand. find some cheap carbon (not for carbon scrubbing it's cheaper that way) then blow ur air through it using some regular ossolating fans and some silver tubing... all in all it's easy to grow, don't be expecting to grow amazing shit first time round man...

Thanks, but I have years of closet growing experience, and I've been satisfied with the results of my 1 400w light in my closet where w/d hookups where and venting out the dryer duct...but it's been kind of bud light and I'm expecting to grow some amazing shit this time around...if I follow good advice here, is it possible? a grand is budget for lights and vent installation...only electrical and ducting.

big difference from 400's and 1000's

go with 600s man, theyre more efficient and youll get a bigger light footprint with 2x600W compared to one 1000W

600s are great also .. just a little more pricey for the extra hoods and bulbs.. but any serious grow of the scale your talking imo shouldnt be done with 400s
