15 Strains, what 2 should I grow next?

So based on what you've suggested, I've eliminated the sativa dom Barney's stuff. I'd love to see the querkle grow but don't think I want to bother with reg beans this time around as one poster mentioned.

I'm thinking it's between OG18, Holy Grail, and Kosher, leaning toward OG 18 and Kosher. On paper the OG18 and Holy Grail would give me the greatest potential yield, but maybe Holy Grail will be too similar to OG18 for my liking. It would be nice to have some difference in bud. But I'm speaking from a place of inexperience, and maybe there isn't really that much difference between OG18 and Kosher either.

barney's "sativa doms" AREN'T, they're stony. LSD is and those that like red dragon admit that is too.

why don't you want to do regs? sexing plants is EASY. just put a shoplight in a closet for 16-24 hours and when you're ready to flip whatever, just put it under your 11-12 hour light. most people seem to agree that you get better quality out of regs or at least less chance of hermies.

if you're going to SCROG, and want a sativa dom, get DNA's sweet haze. it's the best fruity haze i've tried so far. it's stretchy so SCROGging really is best, but it finishes in 9 weeks and is awesome. if you just want to TRY a strain with a more up buzz and absolutely must get a fem, rokerij "amnesia haze" is cheap and decent, but gets totally blown away by sweet haze which is only a few dollars more. thai fantasy and auto jack OK too. CH9 jack is a bit stonier, but nicely potent and euphoric with a nice compact stucture too. those would at least contrast a kush.

Emerald triangle genetics ROCKS, really stable crosses, FIRE smoke, very decent prices, you can't go wrong. Support Emerald Triangle, is the real deal. And maybe Zoolander should stay more alert in the future and don't let others to steal his genetics..

First off, I'll say I haven't grown any of these three (yet), so I can't speak from experience about specific differences.

Going to first principles, by lineage the Holy grail kush is supposed to be (Kosher kush x OG 1.

So I don't see why you'd want to pick either Holy Grail AND one of its parent strains at the same time. That just doesn't make sense to me. Even if they're both great (and they should be), they're still going to be substantially similar. And even if the OG18 and KK are different, they're still in the same "family" of NorCal kushes.

Its not like you don't have choices there. As you say, why not go for something entirely different?

On male/female, again, I don't know what your level of experience is, but it should be more than possible to sex several small vegetative plants in the same space you would flower one larger one. Its perfectly fine to run seeds from germination at 12-12 until they declare gender, then cull any males, so you could do sex selection in the same space and under the same light as a different plant you're flowering. Or you could start all seeds (fem and non fem) at once under your favorite veg schedule and just cull out males when/if any declare themselves.

On average, if you start only two regular seeds, you'll have a 75% chance of having at least one female, and in some cases (strain dependent) the numbers could be higher. IMO, that's pretty good odds.

The point is, I don't think you need to be intimidated by the prospect of culling out males. The only real downside there is that if you roll "snake eyes" and come up with 2/2 or (worse) 3/3 males that could set one of your "slots" back about 3-4 weeks.

Jogro's got the right idea... but since you DO have fems, and you'll be popping 'em sooner or later, I would pop either the kosher or the holy grail. Not both together. if you're growing under one light, using the same reservoir, nutrients, etc., you might want to keep it to one strain to have a somewhat even canopy, maintain some uniformity, and get the highest quality out of one strain instead of stellar bud from one and mediocre meds from the other. that's not really a "rule", but one of the many things I learned the hard way. whatever you decide there's no wrong way to let it grow good luck

Really went full circle with this one and it should be a squeeze, but Kosher and two querkle it is. Probably have to get a little creative with pruning on the querkle to deal with crowding.
