i think northern lights #5 is an indica/sativa hybrid, or so it says here:

but yeah, that's a low smell one. something like that would be good. and definitely bro, i'm lucky to live where i live. hopefully some day all this will be easier and more accessible (not to mention legal) for all of us.

yeah dude, it is dank as shit. i don't know what an extra week or two would've done, but my sour d is one of the best buds i've ever smoked. white widow & pineapple express -- sounds awesome man, can't wait to see your next grow...

now that harvest is over and the next grow is still 6-8 weeks away from starting, i figure i might as well post some nug pics. i have about 8g left of purple diesel and 8g left of sour diesel. very patient toker, what can i say . (they should have an icon for vaping...) anyway, here they are after about 3-4 weeks of curing:

if i could only post the smells, man... the best way i can describe them is purple d smells like a sweet and sour grape. and sour d smells like a skunk soaked in gasoline haha. i still love my sour d sativa though. the purple d is good for chillin out but it can slow me down too much if i'm trying to do stuff... and most of the time i have stuff to do, so sour's my go to. might have to grow her again someday...

6-8 weeks before starting another grow?????????? what???????? i say you should get one going..... tomorrow!!! lol... looks great man... that smokewould be gone in two weeksin my house... lol...

yeah i know dude, i have pretty good access to bud, but really i just take my time to smoke through my stash. i would smoke more but work gets in the way of smoking haha.. lucky for me i guess, cause this stash is gonna last me a while and next round i can focus on quality not quantity (although both are good lol). also, i got two more trips coming up so unless i had an automatic watering system set up or something, i really can't start until mid jan. but it's all good though the buds do look pretty sweet don't they? the high is awesome, i can tell you that.

Nice looking buds bro my buds don't really look like that....all my hairs are sticking up and it's VERY fluffy. Did your sourD become more compact as you got further into drying? Too bad we can't sample each others diesel

yeah pk, it would be great to be able to trade some sample buds . i think you'll find that your buds will get more compact as you dry and cure... i can tell because they take less and less space in the jar, but the total weight doesn't change that much. and the hairs will definitely keep receding and eventually get brittle and fall off, if they're anything like mine, so yeah, expect more compact buds over time. how's yours smoking so far? you got any bud pics you wanna post here?

Aghh I wish I could post pics here this damn iPhone won't let me do anything. This is by far the biggest bud forum around, and that other forum I tried out? That shits garbage lol.

And you were talking about self watering, it's pretty easy to rig up something that'll water your plants for you. Or just go hydroponic I love my setup I really don't do anything except throw in a gallon of water and nutes once a week.

Wish I could be a light smoker. Damn I burn .4-.6 a day! I had one really nice sample I fully dried and semi cured it came out nice. But I'm trying a different approach, I semi-dried my weed when I started curing. Stems don't snap, but it's not soaked either. I leave the buds out for like 2 hours a day. My buddy uses this method to cure, and he has some delicious weed but this way takes longer so I don't have much to smoke right now I'll let you know tho.

ah, too bad you can't post pics. thanks for the self watering info though... i'll definitely look into it for my next grow. that's one of my biggest things -- being able to leave town for a few days without worrying about the plants drying out or what have you.

and that curing method sounds pretty good, i've heard about it before. next time i will make sure to dry my buds slower, by reducing ventilation, putting them in a smaller space, and maybe leave some of the trim on. probably the biggest mistake i made in my entire grow was drying the bud too fast. still, not a big deal because i prefer that than the opposite -- having mold problems. anyway, sounds good about your cure, let me know how the smoke turns out when it's ready

i think i am gonna go experimental when it comes time to dry and cure mine... i.ll let you know what i try for sure...

I just started germinating a new grow today I'm going to do just one big plant :0 starting with 2x sour diesel and one seed of ak47. Def concentrating on the ak over the sourD. I'll let you know if I do a grow journal. I might grow a mini lemon tree too badass.

I wanted to ask you about your vaporizer tho. Is it a cheap one/expensive one? Does it get you higher than smoking it? Easier on the lungs? And what's your overall satisfaction? Figured I'd ask someone who has one

hey pk, glad to hear your sour d is smoking well! that's awesome. mine is great as well... i'm using it pretty sparingly, so it never knocks me out too much, just a nice uplifting, energetic high.

hope you find a way to post some pics of your new grow & start a journal. feel free to link it here when you do.

as for vaporizers, this is the one i use:

i think it goes for around $120 or so. not as good as the volcano obviously, but it does the job. i here's my list of pros & cons for vaporizing in general...

pros:
- smoother on the lungs
- better/lighter taste & smell (for the user as well as what's left in the room)
- healthier for you, lung-wise
- more efficient in terms of bang for your bud (but that's debatable)
- the left overs are perfect for cooking

cons:
- not portable (unless you get one of those vapir ones for like $200)
- it requires waiting about 5 mintues to heat up.

that last con is the biggest annoyance for me, but if you don't mind the little bit of waiting, overall i think the pros outweighs the cons. let me know if you decide to get one.

Nice friggin grow homer! +rep man! I use a vape myself and stand by it. I have smoked using just about every technique available and find that smoking from a vape not only tastes wayyy better, but its much easier on the lungs. I had a few bouts with pneumonia a few years back and my lungs didnt do well with smoking at all. I am back in business when it comes to using a vaporizer. Kudos again an a successful first grow. Mine is still in progress and I will most liely be going into flowering in about two weeks. Check it out if ya want.
