150w closet grow?

My old grow room (the one in the pictures) was 2' deep, 5' wide & 5' high. The lights are just 150 watt HPS security lights from my local big box store. They're not specifically grow anything lights. I just used them right out of the box. No idea what bulb it has other than HPS. They were made by GLOBE which is a cheap end light that Rona sells around here.

They did work VERY well compared to the 8 48" t-8 bulbs I used the grows before this. Especially with less that $100 bucks invested in each.

500 w? That seems to be a halogen light. NOT what you want! Heat will be NASTY! Don't know about growing with them because of the FIRE HAZARD! IMO if that IS a halogen light I wouldn't use it period! I've seem them light cigarettes off those puppies. Dont think their the correct temp of light either.

Yes, but you can cook with halogen.
