What's up RUI!

This my second grow got Big Buddha blue cheese, Sensi super skunk and CH9 humboldt on the go.

They are coming to the end of the 5th week flowering and looking nice and smelling divine.

This is an organic grow, well as organic as you can get from a plastic bottle, last time I noticed using a non organic product called shooting powder (a P/K boost) it may swell your buds to double the size but there is a nasty after taste left a kind of sour chemical taste that I don't like even after flushing for a week. So these are the nutes I am using this time.

Bio Bizz - Root juice, grow, bloom and alg-a-mic

Hesi - Supervit ( I no I no this isn't organic but its not nutrients it vitamins and amino acids that I need to add as the bio bizz light mix soil I have just inst up to the job.)

Canna - Bio boost

Advanced floriculture - Bloom final (last two weeks) (this product has been said to triple yields so can't wait to see what it can do for 30 quid a pop I expect it to work)

A few changes to my cupboard, I have everything on the inside now the fan the ballast etc..

I've been having a few problems with night time temps its been really cold here so even with a heat mat I had night time temps of 7 degrees c I think this caused phosphorus lock out early on when I flipped the switch which delayed flower formation which in turn may delay the harvest a week or so but I have that fixed now with a little home made heater.

What else... So they are coming up to the end of week five I hope they finished stretching now as height is becoming a bit of a problem especially the BC wow I didn't expect it to get that tall for an indica dom strain.

Well that's the update will post some pictures soon for your viewing pleasure.

Oh feel free to love hate comment like or even have a quick wank what ever you want.

I have been having a look at the pics from my old grow and at week 5 they were much fatter that what I have now, for week 5 I think these are not doing so well they are forming but really slowly and not putting on the weight. I have tried to figure out what I have been doing wrong at first the night temps were too low which caused a P lockout but I fixed that a few weeks ago I did notice an improvement but I thought they would have been bigger by now. I can't understand what it is I am doing wrong. Any thoughts/advice is welcome.

Just read through your last grow and came across this thread. Last grow you had the light a lot closer to screen, not to mention you used a screen which will both effect your yield. Also I noticed you changed your bulb from horizontal to veritcal. Is this the same bulb? Are you aware they make different bulbs for vert/horizontal positioning? Using the bulb the wrong way will decrease life and lumens...could be another reason for smaller buds. But Im looking to purchase a 400w cmh within the next month or two and do a side-by-side with a 400w hps. So ill stick around here for the rest of the grow.

btw the frost in pic 3 and 5 looks dope. Some good hash is on its way :joint:

Thanks for the reply roachclip420 and glad to hear you going to use a cmh. The bulb is the same I used for the last grow and its rated for both vertical and horizontal positions in fact reading their data sheet all data values are listed for vertical position usage. I wouldn't say I have the bulb that much further from the tops than last time I will move it closer and see if it makes a difference but the cupboard is pretty small anyway so they should be getting enough light. Good thought though will try something for a few days and see what works best.

Cheers, I am thinking of trying the dry ice hash making method can't wait to see the results.

Yeah man I'm with him....I have my veggers on a vertical 175w MH and those plants get 2-3 inches away from the bulb with out burning or bleaching. √

Just gotta make sure that bulbs getting cooled somehow or another.

Hi there psychild I've moved the bulb top down to within an inch of the middle plant hopefully this will help. The plants on the side are still 3-4 inches from the bulb which maybe too far but I can't get them any closer. I have a fan blowing on the bulb to take the heat away from the tops. Temps are stable at 23-25 degrees c. Hope this solves the problem and they start to fatten up. Thanks for the thoughts.

No problem man! That should be perfect! Just give them a day or 2 and see if they show any negative effects. IMO a 150w is almost like a CFL though, you can pretty much put them right on top √

Think the girls are finally starting to put on a bit of weight. They have have been watered twice now with canna bio boost and are loving it, great product. Thanks for the advice for lowering the bulb this helped really appreciate it. They have a good two weeks to grow as much as they can before I start using the Bloom final which will send them into a final flowering frenzy and hopefully make them swell and rock hard.

I did a flush today as I noticed some of the leaves having a little nutrient burn. Think I might have overdone it with the bio canna boost. They have conflicting instructions, on the label it says 1 ml per litre normal feeding and 2ml per litre heavy feeding. Then on their website it state 3ml per 10l for the first two weeks and then 1ml per litre for the last week. I was putting like 3ml per litre so no wonder my girls didn't like it, all flushed and good now. The pH of my run of was 5.3-5.7 which means it was full of salts and at that pH phosphorus cant be absorbed by the plant very well. Probably another reason why the buds have been slow to form.

Hello all reading this. Opened up my cupboard today to have a look at the girls and I definitely noticed a difference wow the blue cheese is frosting up and the super skunk is now covered in glistening goodness, the nugs have really grown. The flush must have restored the soil so the girls can take up what they need. I am letting it dry out then resuming with a feed. I am a bit stuck as to when I should harvest ideally I want to let them go as long as they can. I was thinking of letting them go for 9 weeks and then flushing for a week so 10 in all. Currently they are coming to the end of the 6th week since I flipped the switch. Does anybody have any advice on this matter? I am not asking for unhelpful comments such as, "they are ready when they are ready." Yes we know that thank you very much a bit of insight/personal experience would be much appreciated. Photo update to follow shortly.

The girls had a feed today and started using the final bloom, its smells really nice like liquid bubblegum. Hope is makes them pop! I am thinking of seeing how they look after two weeks of using this stuff if I think they need a week longer then I will let them have it and then a weeks flush nothing but water. So either three or four weeks till harvest depending. That will take them to 9-10 weeks which is a supposes about right. Some photos enjoy.
