150W HPS Lamp??

Im just wondering if my 150w HPS lamp is enough for 9-12, 1 gallon soil pots, lollipops in a grow area about 2'x2'x4' high. Plants are only about 18inches tall at harvest. Anyone have any advice please do tell.

yea ill be trying to do this with 2liter bottles about the same number of plants with the same lighting bc i wanna show ppl how to take advantage of every inch and lumen. i think it will work pretty decently sea of green style. if i were you, id prolly only do like 8 being that you are using bigger pots so they are gonna take up more space.

ive filled the room already with 12 plants, its not that tight of a squeeze. I keep my plants small. Also i keep my plants on perpetual 2 week cycles so there are pnly 6-8 larger sized plants at a time

i have a 150watt HPS and it worked great for three girls i had but i wouldnt grow anymore then that with such a small light..IMO..

you grew full plants im assuming. we are talking about sea of green style. all lower branches are cut and the plant is basically just a main cola. takes up much less space than a full mature plant

thats right. Plants only take up about as much room as the pot. Im trying to get as many kolas out of this as i can as with temps in the summer it gets to hot to grow so i move it outside. I was considering trying to do a full party cup sog. But i did a test plant and i dont know if its worth the time and effort at least this year, looks nice but very minimal.

I would almost try growing one plant, topping it many times, and then Low Stress Training(LST) it with yarn or hemp. Can achieve the same SOG effect, but only worrying about taking care of one plant. Did this with a plant recently, ended up with 8 colas, and was able to leave alot of lower branches still on to get even more buds. Used 250W MH for one plant, got an ounce and a half dried.

What's a lid?

You could probably fit that many under a 150w hps. The intensity of a 150 falls off quite quickly with increased distance away from the light source, and to get enough coverage for 9-12 plants you probably have to keep the bulb pretty high above the plants. I would maybe try to get as many plants as possible in the space without raising light over 12-16" away from the plants. The closer the light source the greater the light intensity, which means more plant growth and bigger buds.

I don't know exactly where the point of diminishing return is for this, but just keep that in mind when trying to set up your operation.

SOG is a great way to maximize small space, and you can certainly do it with a small light. Just find your happy medium!

yeah a lid is 28 grams. Ive got the tied down and i keep the light under 12 inches away from the plants I keep the light just high up enough so that the light covers the edge of the corner plants. I move the plants every day or 2 because the corner plants are farther away from the light/
