Eh up lads!

I just read this:

http://forum.grasscity.com/general-indoor-growing/321592-thinking-about-using-150w-hps-dont-bother-heres-why.html

If some of you more experienced guys could give an opinion, that would be great cos i think if this arguament holds firm, its very helpful for newbies...ie, if youre gonna go less than 250W, go cfl; anything over go HID.

Ive been tossing this around a lot lately, im gonna have a stealth closet grow, 100 x 50 x 175cm max...i just assumed it is way too small for a 250W hps, even with cool tube and good vent. But the geezer in the grow shop said he had a 250 in a space 80 x 80 x 150cm and there was no heat probs...thats why i was going for cfl's in such a small space cos i thought a 250 hps would be WAY too hot.

So, growing gurus, what would YOU reckon as the smallest grow area for a 250 allowing for a bit of fannage and extraction, carbon filters, etc...

Also i thought of 1 x 250W hps plus 2 x 55W 6400k for veg and hps plus 2 x 55W 2700K for flower, put the cfls under the main colas for a bit of light to the bottom, would be sweet ya?

Man i love riu!

Cheers

175 watt metal halide, one plant at a time. I get anywhere from 1.5 - 2.5 ounces per plant. My grow space is 30x30x56

I have not been bitten by the "gotta get a bigger light" bug yet but my needs are small.

No, that's fine for a 250. My drobe is slightly smaller, and I use a 250 (without cool tube), with no problems at all. Just get some decent extraction going and you should be fine.
