Hey MIMA, welcome to RUI!

Think in terms of square footage rather than plants - we need 50 watts HPS light per square foot for flowering so you can get good results with 3 square feet from a 150 watt HPS. With a low wattage light you will get limited light penetration into the canopy: 6" - 8" with a loose canopy. Don't bother with the CFLs, your money would be better spent on more powerful HPS and use the 150 watt ballast with a convertable MH bulb for veg.

4' x 2' is a tough light footprint, most reflectors give a rectangular print - for that size tent you should have at least a 400 watt HPS, or partition the tent for your 150 watt.

I could grow 3 CCOB plants with 16" x 25" per plant. Download the Introduction to Weed Science for pictures, link below.

Stick with HPS for the simples/best results. If you live in the US HTG has the least expensive deals and is used by many forum members. They don't ship out of country.

If you're not from the US we need to know your country of origin.
