thanks, they are growing so fast. i went ahead and chose my two flower plants and my new mother. im left with three good clones with no home, i could start up my third chamber but i dont like using it because it requires another fan to cool the ballast and it makes more noise when its on. and there is noone that i can give them to that would have any idea what to do lol. i gave some away last time and they were dead in a week. i gave my other friend one it didnt last 5 minutes..i just hate throwing away perfectly good female clones, it feels like im murdering them. wish i could send em in the mail,but i think customs agents would get a kick out of opening that package. then id probably be in jail for some rediculous law they made in 1937. so i might see 3 clones in my pretend obituary in the near future.






anyways, i chose my new mother because it had two main stems already.i will trim and train it in bonsai fashion, as well as trim the roots periodically.it will be a good clone producer even though i will only need 2 at a time. i put it in a bubbler system all by itself and it will be easy to maintain and clean.

on a side note, i love being able to post this step by step, for everyone to see. ive done it a quite a few times but never had a journal online. but this is where it starts. its exciting to watch them grow so fast and then the harvest is the best time. before you know it you got sticky icky green buds that blow you away. nothing better than homegrown in my opinion. mine has a distinct pine flavor and knock out buzz i love it..lol

heres the three extra clones, for a medium i layered on some glass beads, tree bark, leaves and soil, and a few lava rocks together to make these cool little containers out of baby food jars. works good and i dont mind parting with the the jars, so they are ready for their new homes.

i tried to give clones away but they didnt want em, couldnt sell them, so i decided to experiment with them.

im planning on vegging them for about a week, and then budding them with 2, 8 inch T8 flourescents, it will be a testament to micro cab growing for this mother room is just under 1.5 cubic feet, as well as the lights being so small, 13w per bulb. hoping i can pull off a couple grams or three lol. anyway it will be a mini harvest before the big harvest in the budding chamber. has anyone flowered plants with a similar setup? what kind of yield did you get? i know the lights are not optimal, daylight bulbs....soft would have been better but what the heck, ill try it.


i mentioned in a earlier post that i didnt like to run this room if i didnt have to. this is part of the reason. its a remote ballast that sits in the chamber above the mother room. i cut air vents in the front cover of the room for the cpu fan to suck air in across the 2 ballast to keep them cool. works like a charm keeps them cool to the touch, but the drawback is all the lint that gets trapped in the ballast worries me that it could start a fire. i might try a thin screen behind the vent to catch it, but if that gets clogged then it heats up and im in the same boat. if i keep an eye on it and clean it regularly its fine but thats kind of a pain in the ass haha or im just lazy, one of the two lol i set the fan to only go on when the lights are on, so when i get it down to a 12/12 cycle ill worry a little less.

this is what the cab looks like today, got my two flower plants on the left (still vegging), the mini harvest in the middle, and mom on the right. going full speed ahead now that ive got good genetics.


you can see the slots i cut in the cover above the mini harv room, those let the cool air in for the ballasts. its set up like that to keep the heat out of the growspace.

so i studied up a little about what a hempy pot was and how to make one. ive had this clay bonsai pot for years but never used it for much than a couple onions. i drilled a hole in the side at a level that would create a good reservoir in the bottom,with a masonry drill bit and plugged up the bottom holes real good with hot glue, molding the glue inside and out of the hole to create a nice impenetrable seal.


then i filled the bottom just over the hole with hydro rocks to keep the perlite from getting stuck or coming out of the hole. then i filled the pot with perlite inserting each plant as i filled it little by little. i tried to get them pretty deep to keep the hieght down. and im working on getting a screen to scrog them with.


i put them back in the mother room still on 18-6 for a couple days with veg nutes in the res..ill water a few times then switch to flower.

the two flowering plants are doing very well, starting to train the branches and push them under the screen



the roots are also starting to pop out of the net pots, a sure sign that they are rooting well.



i will veg these plants until the screen is about 75% full then switch to flower cycle.

thanks man, what do you think of my little hempy pot? i watered it a few times and now im about to switch it to flower. im going to try to make a screen today too to keep em contained.

ive been watering the hempy pot everyday and it seems like it soaks up the whole reservoir every time, i guess thats a good thing though since cannabis loves being wet then dry, it promotes the roots to stretch.

Tonight I shall mostly be online, tryina figure out WTF a hempy pot actually is. I heard GanjaQueen rockin on about 'em the other day, sure there's a couple other grows using them... And I'm still blissfully unaware.

haha thanks man, yeah i had a "WTF is hempy" moment as well, but from what i read its just basically any pot with a reservoir in the bottom of the pot with a drain hole that controls the level. pretty simple, but effective. i just switched my hempy to flower and bought a screen to keep em held down. ill have some pics up by tommorrow.

Yeh I spent a couple hours online trying to get my head around Hempy Buckets last night... I couldn't find any idiot-explainations on youtube. I started in on a couple RIU threads talking about it, but they were 100s of pages long... So I've put it aside for somewhen when I've got a nice bit of smoke to sit down and really read up on.

Looking good dude! I really wish I had the room to clone my baby and play around with her. I love the hempy pots man. Alot of people are getting great results with them.

@uzerneims thanks man i had one in a pc box before, it had a spot for a mother and 4 clones. i saw the results from dwc and i never went back, except for a little hempy scrog experiment

@mewk69 it seems like you can use any medium and its more about the pot then the medium but ive seen a lot with perlite, and a lot that were mixed with hydroton.

@madrush this is actually my second dresser, the first one didnt have a 3rd room so i used a pc box as an extra veg chamber. thats why my new cab design had a 3rd room for the mother which im actually using that room for my hempy grow
