150w sunsystem hps

Hey wats up guys I got a quick question. I got two plants which are both bout a foot tall still n vege. Ben n it for a month n a half now is it koo to kick em into flower now ?? They are both females n have preflowers comeing out all over them. N if soo would a 150 w sunsystem hps do the trick through the flowering stage for the two??? The strain n lemon kush..

it'll work but you probably want to LSt them cause it wont light the bottom half of the buds at all. but still better than cfls

Check my grow journal in my signature. I am using that exact light plus a few others. Put up new photos earlier tonight.

I have the same lamp and I am using it to flower two sativas, bagseed. The mistake I made is that I put the plants into flower at about 12" tall. During the first week and a half of flowering they trippled in height. I have my HPS about 10" from the tops and it's enough light for the top half of the plant but the rest is kinda lacking light because of the top canopy. If you have lots of mylar you should be good, if not might suffer. I can post a pic of my setup if you're intersted

Also do you have a glass cover on it? That helps keep the heat off the top fo the plants if you are having heat issues that is.

Yea. I'd love to check ur you guys picks!!! I haven't got the light yet but ima get it this weekend, I didn't know it came with a glass cover I was jus planning on gettin a fan n tilting it upwards towards the light to keep it somewhat cool u know.. By the way how much did u harvest useing it? A couple of ounces??? I'm curious thanks

I haven't fully harvested my plants yet but I suspect about an oz and a half from both and that is only because 4 weeks were wasted on seed production, had a hermie in with them and they got pollinated a little But hey free seeds and the bud i tested definitely got me stoned...It was just some really strong sativa bagseed, got lucky with decent genetics i guess

Also I promise to post some pictures for you tommorrow. I have to head to bed now and will get them up asap for you !

Here is my setup. Nothing overly fancy but it works

The first picture is my closet. The flowering chamber and clone area fit nicely in it. The only modification I have to make is to cut a hole in the wall through to the room behind it to exhaust the heat to because right now its being vented into the closet which keeps temperatures a bit too high but the plants are doing ok in it.

Inside the flowering chamber I have two of my girls flowering (day 60) under the 150W HPS. I also have just added 3 clones under the T5 to start them flowering. I had some wasted space so made use of it but at the cost of raising the temperatures even more - up to 88 closed and 86 open.

I actually decided to buy a 400w cooltube to put in there that way it will provide enough light for all my plants plus it will take temperatures down a bunch because the ballast is remote (150w is inside lamp) and I will be removing the T5...anyway sorry I just blabbed on.

Also forgot to add the fact that the plant on the right is about 3 1/2 feet tall and the plant on the left is about 2 feet tall, thats why she's propped up on books so both tops are about 10" from the top of the HPS...with the fans blowing the heat off the HPS into the 6" inline fan the tops don't get too hot, my hand is comfortable resting above the tops - thats how they say to gauge the distance of the light hehe.

I'm using miracle grow nutes + molasses. It was my first grow and I was lazy so just got the standard crap. I'm going with fox farms soil/nutes next time around.

Curious how you are going to set the 150w up for flowering. A tent or closet or something?

oh im goin to set it up in my closet yea my plants are in there now still n VEG STAGE..lookin pretty nice..n ive had em n vege for bout 2 months now..BUT maybe bout 2 weeks outta those 2 months they were n straight dark cause i was moveing during that time..but i kicked em back into veg and there doin pretty good...soo its time to flower and inplus i jus want some free weed hahaahh.. yea i got bout 3 WARM WHITE CFL's soo imma use those for the bottom of the plant n jus hope everything turns out right..i wanna get that tiger bloom soo i can get some fat budds have u herd any positive things bout it????

Yeah I can't blame you for wanting to get free weed Thats what its all about!

But yeah foxfarm nutes are all organic and can be "tricky" if you don't apply the correct nutes properly, just follow this chart and you'll be good.
