150w to much???

I got a small space thats 3'high 3'long and 18"wide. I want to grow in it but didnt know whether to go with t5's or 150w...........

i was gonna go with the t5's but if i can throw a 250 in there ill order one tommorrow.

you'll have to ventilate with any light, buy you shouldn't have any problem keepint the temp in check.
Get a system with a switchable Hps/Mh ballast.

my space is close to the same size and i went with a 150w i think it was the right choice. i think a 250w would be to hard to control the heat.

150 will work fine but if you upgrade to 250 then you can get a MH conversion bulb along with a HPS bulb

you can't effectively light an area that's three feet long and a foot and a half wide with a 150 HPS, that's under 10,000 lumens for 4.5 square feet. You want to aim for 50 watts per square foot.

i appreciate the feedback alot. pretty much a newb when it comes down to indoor,but ive had my share of fun in the sun:bigjoint:
runs- you said u use a 150 how many plants do u grow under it and how effective is it?

gangj- if i went with the 250 about how much$ would it take to vent. and get my space workin right? Would the fans be loud. Noise isnt a huge factor but i would like to keep it as stealthy as i can

you da man gangj. well i got 6 goin right now under tube flour. And iam usin some compost i have with some miricle grow in it.

when i get this fan will i need to get anything else so i could plug it in. And are they hard to wire?

you'll just need an extension cord with three prongs, strip it and match the wires by color. Also you can find 6 inch flexible ducting at HD too.

yeah man the 250w air cooled light will deffently work just got to get it vented right easy sqeezy . can't wait to see what becomes of that lil tin of seeds. nectar

hmmm, I don't see anything about Miracle Grow, but you are right no MG. Use promix or a soiless mix, if you need one I have a couple and use real nutrients, I use botanicare pro grow and bloom
