162 w micro soil grow... lui, gdp,cheese, and the purps are the stars of this grow...

so this is whats up... i am gonna be running two 42w, two 23w, and two 13w cfls... mixed spectrum... i will be vegging for about 2-3 weeks and kicking it into flower shortly afterwards... my camera is down rite now so i will have to give you my box dimensions and hope you get a good visual... 13" (w), 14" (h), and 10" (d)... my soil bed will cover the bottom of the box and is about 1.5" tall... i will not have a door on the front of my box... just open space... shouldnt have a prob with it getting to hot like that... i will be installing proper ventilaion (intake and exhaust) when i get a chance, but this should work for now...

so this is what i am wondering... what strain should i grow out first? i have the following supply of seeds... lui x 2, gdp x 3, the purps x 3, and 1 x cheese... this is the deal... doesnt matter if i get males... still growing them out... i want the pollen... i think it would be awesome if i got a male and female of each strain... minus the cheese since i only have one... i am hoping for it to be a female... but yeah i want the pollen from the males so i can multiply the amount of seeds i have... not to often i run into actual genetics and i figure seeding up my ladies would be the best way to not run out of them...

well... i think all i need now is a y- light splitter and another 42w cfl and i will be good to go... i am prolly gonna wait to i finish off getting my supplies before i even germinate my seeds...

i would like some honest opinions of which strain you guys think will do the best in my micro grow... lui is prolly at the top of my list of what i am wanting to try out... so if i dont get any input, you guys have pretty much helped me make my choice... thanx and stay green muh fuccas...

the one that is the most indica dominant is the simple answer..... ill be keeping track of this one as our cfl wattage is similiar except i done even have a box

they all have strong indica traits.... which is why i am having a hard time deciding... the grand daddy has the quality or urkle, but with a better yeild... i LOVE the flavor of the mendo purps, but i am not too sure on the yeild of it... the lui has a great yeild as well... the cheese is the only one i am not sure of... has anyone on here grown out any cheese strain before?

went to my dank guy this morning and got a g for 20 and 2 seeds he threw me... it is def. some kush... not 100% sure on what strain, but i know its an indica and i love kush... so... if anyone is following this than add a unknown kush strain into the mix... i smoked a bowl about 2.5 hours ago and im still pretty blazed... so now i thinking its either gonna be the lui or this stuff... started making my marks on my box ... all i need now is to bring it to the carpentry shop and i'll be set...

awesome man i got my seed outta some dank too....... id say go with either the ultimate indica or this kush, its really a toss-up if ur only gonna do 1 at a time....... did the dude say what kinda kush it was??

i wish he had... all i know is that when i smoke it... all that i taste is str8 up kush... no other flavors at all...

i didnt see a join group icon when i followed that link... but anyways... i decided to go with the kush strain... i put two seeds in peat pellets in a green house like box i picked up... did that yesterday... prolly take a few days to sprout, but i have everything ready to go... my wattage is gonna be at 120 until i get the y-splitter i need and that extra 42w bulb... i figure i have about three weeks before i will need to pick up that upgrade part... i am gonna go as organic as possible with this grow... i went 90% organic with my last grow and had no complaints on the flavor or "high" of the bud...

so let's see... put a a seed in 2 peat pellets sunday... 1 popped... has its first set of true leaves as of last night... i am going twelve and twelve on this one from here on out for stealth purposes... i have a scrog screen set up for training... dont know if i'll need it... really curious if this plant is gonna fill out in the next 3 weeks or so... im only shooting for an O or less... i'll be happy with a half... also found out that this strain is master kush bred with a purple hindu kush... humm.... off to learn more... really sorry i dont have any piks up... camera went to shit on me about 3 weeks ago... when i get a new one... i'll post some new ones...

working on its second set of true leaves... first pair is quite larger than the cotelydons... i think thats how ya spell it... decided to go with lst... took out the screen last nite... gonna pick up some superthrive and molasses this weekend... all leaves are dark green and looking good... i also watered again last night... checking soil and watering about every other day.. i guess with a shallow container and adequate drainage watering often is requireed... anyone else grow outta containers an inch and a half tall? it is plenty wide... covers entire bottom of my grow box... just super shallow... i am hoping this lil plant to be a female being i am only growing out one at a time... this journal is pretty fucking boring without piks... sorry people...

so basically i guess i am updating this thread for personal ref. to how long and to what age my plant is... i am up to 120 w of cfl right now... mixed spectrum... i am also giving it about 13-14 hours of light.. i am not using a timer this time around... thought about it... wanted to.... decided not to... the plant is still growing out its second set of true leaves... i decided to lst until it show some signs of sex and then begin my lst to the screen.... i guess if the scrog doesnt fill up like i would like, then i can use the screen for support of my monstrous colas i am hoping for...lol... monstrous... in all actuality i am planning on having decent size, but not monstrous colas... i now need to get a extra 42 w cfl and still need a "y" splitter... not much of an update without piks... all i can say is that i am pleased with the growth rate of this plant and i'm crossing my fingers for some cunt hairs... still have not started nutes... color is still a dark green rich color... no sign of nute def. so no need for nutes...

as soon as i get a camera... second set of true leaves are now as big as the first... no nutes tell they tell me... i have been reading that 14/10 can keep them in veg, so that is what i am trying... just an experiment... i dont trust the lights on while im gone, and my chik... she'll let them die before she does anything right for them... so its a one man micro grow... its def. responding to the extra wattage nicely... just sorta wondering how long i can keep it in veg with the light cycle i am using... this will def. determine how much of the screen is filled and if i will top or not... i do want multiple colas... humm... descicions only i can make... bah humbug...

well this is whats up... growth has slowed down a lil bit... i am not sure if it is due to the shape of my container... it is about 2" inches deep, about 1 1/2" of soil and about 14"x9" "rectangularly" i guess... the leaves were getting a lil lighter... the base of the stem that meets the soil has shrunk up noticably compared to the stem... i gave it 1/4 strength 13-2-0 nutes... which i know nitrogen should help with he yellowing... i just feel it was a lil early to need nutes... she (hoping) was popped into the peat 2 weeks ago sunday, so technically i guess that monday after would be her sprout day... however i am starting my schedule when the seed started germing... so my final count on days will be exactly from seed to smoke... who knows..
i am gonna line my box with some reflectiveness tonight... it needs it and i think overall it will help... if the nutes didnt work with her i am gonna try the old epsom salt method... just simply to eliminate it being a magnesium def... and if it helps... then good... i am also going to start adding superthrive to my grow this weekend... just to sorta speed up some things.. like roots in particular... shouldnt be needing molasses for a second....

i figure that i am going to try using only the nutes i used on my other plant... it worked on a sativa, lets find out if this works for a nice bushy kush...

it was all good and gravy... shit hit the fan... my girl busted my cfls... so now i am running 1x26, 1x15, 3x13...=80 watts... real shitty... anyways.. my plant was without lights for about a day and a half... didnt die... but has def. slowed down growth... hope it didnt stress it too much.. i guess only time will tell...

lets see... i did this experimental topping/fimming technique... i clipped all the new growth... which was only the center tip which was about a 16th of an inch... i want to see if i can stop vertical growth this way... it has been two days and nothing new popping up... i would def say that the 14/15 hours of light is slowing veg time... i almost believe my growing container is too shallow... i guess now im sorta just waiting for it too bush out more before i switch to flowering... i think i have my watering down as far as the container goes... i water about 30 ounces of liquid every other day... alternating nutes and water... i let it drain real good for about a hour and put it back under the lights... humm...

i squeezed 1 of my fan leafs last night... it smelled rather skunky... from my last couple grows, i have noticed that skunky smelling ones tended to be female, where as the "green" smelling plant was a male... so i am sorta stoked... not completely, but if my theory stands true with the male/ female smell, then yee haw right?
