I'd just start with a fresh new container and use only h2o2. That's just me though...yes take clones. So it seems that I should get h2o2 plus DM zone.
Sterilize with peroxide as a flush/root bath and kill what's on the roots.
Then make a new Rez and add the DM zone.
Would that work ? And should I start trying to take clones now, before they die?
me personally would skip the peroxide. the chlorine in the zone will help sterilize the roots, the tub, the lines etc. and i think it's gentler on the roots too. the chlorine won't break down over time into O2 and H2O like the peroxide will.So it seems that I should get h2o2 plus DM zone.

taking clones will put additional stress on the plants. i would try to save them first and then take some clones after a few days. that's just me.And should I start trying to take clones now, before they die?
chlorine is bad news.me personally would skip the peroxide. the chlorine in the zone will help sterilize the roots, the tub, the lines etc. and i think it's gentler on the roots too. the chlorine won't break down over time into O2 and H2O like the peroxide will.
make a separate container with max strength zone in it and dunk each netpot into it alot. you want to get it up into the hydroton, the upper roots, all the way to the stem..
yep, that's why dyna gro and a few other nute manufacturers have it as an ingredient.chlorine is bad news.
Zone or HTH pool shock. i;ve used both. when my bottle of Zone got old, it became ineffective. So I picked up the nutrilife h202 and added what was needed. I'm thinking of changing my Rez but not sure what to do...
I'm thinking plain water with peroxide to flush them for today.
Then add nutes tomorrow.
It does seem like chlorine maybe a better long term solution because I can buy powders. I'm gonna need gallons of h2o2 if I continuously use it every few days. I need a permanent fix not duct tape and super glue kind of fix. I read that these are all good things but I just want 1 product that does it all.
- H2o2, DM zone, chlorine, Hydroguard, great white, beneficial bacteria & fungi.
So In all WHAT KILLS & PREVENTS (LONG TERM) root rot ?
just so you know, they aren't going to like this. the old roots will slough off so change res frequently. growth will stop. just give them time and they will recover. then carry on.Here we go H202 bath
It has been suggested to me by someone very knowledgeable on plant nutrients that regular household bleach would be a preferred source of chlorine over pool shockZone or HTH pool shock. i;ve used both. when my bottle of Zone got old, it became ineffective.
i use 0.30 grams per 10 gallons. chlorine 4ppm. no chiller. hempy buckets. res temp is grow room temp or 78F.
Yes, you can kill them with too much of anything. I usually use 6-8ml of the pharmacy 3% per gallon with no issue. Also can h202 kill my plants if there's to much in the Rez ?
Sweet setup !!!View attachment 3757957 The roots look a little off color but I think it maybe from the FloraNova grow... It's dark brown even when mixed with extra 5 gallons of plain water
regular bleach will work too. although once you open a bottle, it starts to break down over time. that's why i chose the pool shock route. they make a more consistent batch each time. i run at 4ppm. up to 5 is safe for plants. It has been suggested to me by someone very knowledgeable on plant nutrients that regular household bleach would be a preferred source of chlorine over pool shock
Has anyone tried that?
I would think using some test kit to maintain "tap" chlorine ppm's would remedy all bacterial issues.
