This advice is bad, don't follow it. To the OP, Use the biggest pot that your space allows for autos mate. Autos do not like being transplanted. When you germinate them they are suppose to go into there final pot from day 1. The tap root goes all the way down to the bottom of the pot before the plant even starts really growing. The bigger the pot the more you'll yield but it might be too late now.Yes that's too small. You can get away with 2 gallon pots but 1's get root bound quick. If you planned to up pot to a 3 gallon, my advice would be to let that one gallon run for about two weeks or so so that it creates a nice healthy root ball, then transplant up to the 3 gallon. Smaller pots to start out with are actually better for the plants health anyway. When I first started some folks said to start out in the largest pot you're going to transplant but I found over the years that that's not the case. Good luck
Why don't autos like transplant? I'm growing some auto's in a hydroponics system they seem to love it. Just trying to learn more about these plants so I figured I try an auto.
They hate any stress really. Stress and autos will fuck you it's why you don't top em or train em just let em run and they'll do their thing. Hydro transplant prob not as damaging to roots during transplant.
Yea I haven't been messing with my auto's but they kinda growing small compared to a clone or seed of a photo plant, got some freebie testers from FastBuds, not sure how they are gonna turn out but I am not super impressed so far I expect 6-20 oz per plant in my hydro system these don't look they will be anywhere near that mark.
Bad advise? Doubtful! I grew autos for 2 years before starting photo period plants. my main advise to the OP was their question of is a 1 gallon two small which yes it is! I always start plants in cups and then transplant up from a solo cup to a 3 gallon for autos. Maybe you should just give your advice as well instead of trying to tell someone that someone else is wrong and look like an ass! Autos don't like to be stressed as much as a photo can, but you can certainly transplant them and anyone that tells you differently doesn't know what they're talking about. I'm not suggesting to start in 1's ever, but since he did, get a bit more roots before trying to transplant and avoid trashing what little roots are there.
Indoor or outdoor
Unfortunately with an auto the best I've ever gotten was around 3 ounces in a 5 gallon pot under a 600. Average yield was around 2 to 2 1/2. I'm sure some other people have gotten larger yields with some of the super autos but any of the 10 weeks strains probably won't happen. The real selling point for autos is the fact that they're set it and forget it and in 2 1/2 months to pull a couple ounces isn't bad at all.
