Welcome!
I thought I'd start this thread to share my experience on my introduction to hydroponics. I've been growing on and off for more than a few yrs now, and after seeing the results that are possible with hydroponics, I'd thought I'd take a shot at it.
Previously, I was a dirt bagger, more specifically, soilless mix via Pro-mix BX. But now, I'm planning on flowering via 4' x 4' ebb & flow table; bubbleponics for keeping healthy mothers; and cloning with a aeroponic cloner via Stinkbud design:

So far, I have the cloner operational, and 2 - 5 gal. bubbleponics are on stand by, and awaiting clones.
What you see there, on the left, are Blue Dream cuttings. The right is White Widow seedlings. All plants (both cuttings and seedlings) were started in rooting plugs and placed in pro mix. By wk 2 or so my buddy decided he wanted to go from pro mix, to the cloner.
So we filled up the cloner with water ph'd to 5.8. Next, I took a different bucket and filled it with ph'd water as well, and submerged each plant to fully rinse off the pro mix, and gently squeezed the spongy plug under the water a few times to help aerate the plugs, and rinse mix off. Once that was done, we placed them into the cloner. While placing them in the cloner, I noticed that, to our luck, the roots had come along better than we thought. We decided to make a mild nute solution, and thats there they've been for the past 2 wks.
I am using Dyna Gro nutrients. I used to use the complete Fox-farm line (minus Sledgehammer), but after reading Homebrewer's thread on Dyna Gro, he made me a believer (see https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/429438-dyna-gro-vs-advanced-nutrients.html#post5684072). In the rez right now is grow and pro tekt dosed so that the ppm is @ 500 (give or take) (on the 442 or .7 conversion scale). Thing to note - I noticed a Very slight magnesium deficiency on the white widow, so I also added approx. 1 ml of Mag pro to rez.
Note: make sure to add pro tekt to the rez FIRST, or you have some nastiness floating around in there.
Now , how we came into having blue dream still has me scratching my head. For my fellow growers on the West coast, having blue dream isn't that hard to get. Its even out in CO and MI. But I'm on the East coast, so fathoming the logistics of getting a clone only strain to my hands, makes me chuckle. All I have to say is, I guess tweakers actually can contribute to the advancement of society.
I have one patient with severe Rheumatoid arthritis, who swears that 3-5 pokes off his bowl a few times a day, helps him cope better than taking the medication he's prescribed by his rheumatologist. He claims that Blue Dream makes his day LITERALLY, pain free! And this is what its all about.
In getting the cuttings, we were given an unwanted guest: spider mites! Fortunately, we caught it VERY early!! Apparently, had less than ideal conditions, to say the least. I personally, have never had to battle them before ( as I am a stickler for environmental conditions) I read about this product called liquid ladybug and thought I'd try it. Here's a vid on it:

That shit DESTROYED them bitches! I was skeptical, but its been over a wk since first application, and I don't see no mites, no eggs-nothing! So this wk, another application to make sure, then move on.
The other last issue we are nursing; The person before us, in this chain, immediately put a CUTTING, not a rooted clone, under a 12/12 light cycle, so its in the process of reverting back to veg, and you can see it in this pic of the leaves:
See how the leaves are malformed? From what I've read, that is from stress due to lighting schedule. So the plan is to nurse these three ladies to their natural splendor before cloning. Within the past few wks they have progressed to what you see now.
Plz stay tuned. Next we will be transplanting a blue dream into a 5 gal bubble bucket. Thanx for reading, and feel free to give criticism, and/or advice, as I am far from a "grandmaster grower." I have thick skin, as long as its in the name of knowledge, its all good.
