1st AeroGarden Grow - Brown spots on leaves

Hi RIU,

This is my 1st aerogarden grow. I have the Aerogarden Veggie Pro (6 pod), I have added an airstone and pump.
My plants are in their 4 week after germination. How a noticed brown spots on the leaves. Old leaves look like they are curling.

I am using the aerogarden nutes and distilled water.

Feeding schedule
week 1 nothing
week 2 - 2 small tabs (changed water)
week 3 - 2 large tabs

Any ideas what is casing the brown spots? what I can do?
I do not have a PH tester. However since I am using distilled water I assume PH should be ok...

thanks

I agree with paulking24 it looks like nute burn. But I want to ask a question. How many plants do you have? Two big tabs are used for six or seven large vegetative plants and my guess is you're chemically cooking your babies. I'm sorry, I've used A/G's nutes and they're good for the herbs and spices I grow for my wife in the kitchen but not for what we're growing. To me, A/G's nutes with M/J are more work and trouble than they're worth. My hydroponics store introduced me to Technaflora's "Recipe for success," and I've never looked back. I bought a sample kit that has everything you'll need from germination to harvest to the composter. Regretfully, you may have already stressed your babies worse that you know.

Yeah, that's waaaaaaaay too much..

You should check out some of the AeroGarden grow journals, specifically the points regarding nutrients.

the 1st week after they sprout I use only distilled water. No nutrients yet.
the 2nd week I use one of the starter tabs; dissolved first in 1 gallon of distilled water. (Which I Use to top off the nutrient free distilled water that's in the aerogarden)
the 3rd week I begin to then top off the AeroGarden with 1/4 strength hydro vegetative nutrients in a new 1 Gallon container of distilled water.
Once I am done that 1/4 Strength nute gallon; I then proceed with either 1/2 tsp of hydro nutes per Gallon of Distilled water or 1/4 tsp of hydro nutes per gallon. Depending on the strain. Example, Blueberry. 1/4 would be sufficient throughout the growing period. A more resilient plant would be good with 1/2.

Make sure that you pick up a air Pump, air Line and a Air Stone. You can turn off the aerogarden pump and use the new Air Pump I suggested or you can use them both. (the aerogarden pump is not very good).

To correct your current situation. Dump your reservoir completely. After which fill it with distilled water. In the meantime, purchase another gallon and prep it with 1/4 tsp of a Hyro nutrient.
Once you see 1/2 of the reservoir empty, top it off the 1/4 strength gallon you prepped. Continue until that gallon is done.

Moving forward, go with 1/2 tsp per gallon and see if you notice any deficiencies. If so, move to 3/4 tsp in order to correct.

good luck!

Yeah. My old lady dropped two of those tabs in my AG without telling me and now I have some signs of nute burn. Change the water or wait it out.

Thanks for the all the advice.
I currently have 4 plants growing. I know the reservoir is not large enough for 4 but I assume i will loose some after the sex of the plants is known.

I flushed out the reservoir a few days ago.. Plants seem to now have white and brown spots (see attached pictures) .. Guess I just have to wait in out..
