Fwiw the autopot thing I used was similar to your tray in the top picture above, basically a lid for it with a aqua valve done!
(my trays were the flat type)
I didn't use copper sheet to stop roots I put the valve on the copper matt so roots didn't trouble it.
I need advice?
Based on the above I'm not familiar with using the copper matt inside pots, should I expect to see roots outside of the pot?
I've read a number of time that you need to let roots hit the bottom before you turn it on, that suggests the copper matt isn't working it's not doing the intended job?
Can someone please clarify this for me it's conflicting?
