Looks good for Veg....I would still reccomend more CFL's for the amount of plants when close to flowering. 4-6 per plant is more sufficent from what I seen and have read, If you are getting some yellowing of the botom leafs this early this another issue.... I am a newer grower but have learned alot from my 3 plants,,With the lighting you have I would guess overwatering for the light spec they have to work with? Have learned watering is a big part to growth of light supported if this makes semce..More or less one palnt will probley not dry out as fast with 2 CFL's VS 6 from growth and time.. idk but have been really been paying attention to what my plants need no matter the setup, they show..=) Good Luck
thanks for the advice. i will be getting more lights come this payday. as for the whole watering thing i have been paying attention cause i just got rid of a gnat infestation that i had. i water them every 3rd day. i check the soil and this seems to be alright.

LST - Low Stress Training, basically you train your plant to grow any way you want it to. The principle is to control the plant so that it promotes side-shoot growth. With every node is a possible additional cola stalk/s! I have 2 LST'd plants now, i got the itch from Attic an his grow here at RIU.

Bert LST'd, about 30 day difference. First pic barely above pot.
A young Bert - LST'd.jpgBert LST'd.jpg

I am thinking of doing a little artistic lst on a plant once i get the perpetual grow established.

I like your closet area, mine is kinda like it. I made a bottom up 2 box-fan ventilation that is raised up off the ground about 5 inches to pull in cool clean air. The top still needs to be completed, but will have a exhaust fan that blows out into the area where the hot-water heater is. I will post a few pics of it for ya if ya like.

I believe what zorr was tryin to express was transpiration. The more light, the more photosynthesis, the more water is used.... quickest way to relate it without diggin a hole deep enough to input all the mumbo-jumbo!

Yeah cransi pics would be nice. I always like looking at other peoples set up cause it always gives me ideas on how to better mine. thanks for the info on the whole LST thing.
now heres another question how early can you start the whole LST process?

ok so today i have come to the conclusion the led's should only be used for hydroponics and not soil. it wouldnt dry out soil due to the lack of heat
and in turn caused me to have another gnat infestation. still i the process of getting rid of them but soon hopefully those little assholes will be gone.
added more lights to hopefully get more coverage on the leaves.ill try to upload pictures later. oh yeah today would be finish of week one of 12/12.

i would devise some sort of reflector for your light setups, I like the coverage. You could find some sort of pan or something and drill 2 very nice holes for your inputs, mount it to the power strip. Make the holes big enough so metal isnt touching around the power input. That is what i did, and gives you a nice metal surface to mount small PC fans as well.

Mr. Undercover Rasta... soon be smokin no mo pasta... hehe j/k yo. Every time i see your forum name i get a little jingle going in my head!

so how them plants doing? That did not cross my mind concerning lack of heat, how does the growth look or even compare to you rasta? Does it seem slower? If you have any extra clamp-lamps use maybe two of them with single y's for some good side lighting. I think that might provide the heat needed to help with water absorption. I think transpiration has to do with that also... i will not dig!

OK so here are them pics for ya, *this is in no way means a intentional hyjacking*... GIVE ME ALL YOUR PASTA!!!!! :eyesmoke:

rough estimates - 7.75' ceiling, 4.5' wide, 1.9' depth
pic of top area outside showing roller blind

most of grow area

lower section, 5" off floor, 4 front leg supports. The 1x2"x6' white mdf was almost the cheapest at lowes, it has an ok finish on them so saved $$$ on paint. Ya can kinda make out the metal window screen i used to block.... my cats from exploring.

Down angle, box fans pull the air from the 5" raised bottom.

With the roller shade pulled almost all the way down. I then can push the bottom of shade up an under the lip to get a half-ass seal. Hah... my ghetto exhaust is just the higher portion roller shade venting out the right side behind the dresser. There is an intake vent back there for the AC... helpin out with the heat exchange!

So there it be, hope it sparks some good ideas for ya. If ya have any Q's toss em!

nice set-up cransi. what week your girls in right now?

anyways plants are doin good. as for the growth comparison LED seems to grow slower but the leaves on them seem alot healthier for some reason. greener and fuller. I also took amnooneo advice and made reflectors for the tops of my power strips so that no light is wasted on the ceiling. ill post those pics later. thanks everyone for your help.

Man, seeing those CFLs being held over those plants sure brings back some memories! But it did make me curious, shouldn't the CFLs be lowered to within like 2 inches above the plants? Anyways, good luck and subscribed.

P.S. I looked at the wrong pictures I guess, your lights are positioned in a good spot. Sorry!

P.S.S. Sorry, I'm high or something, I was looking at Cransi's pictures.

that is one of the most thought of ideas i have ever seen you have a nice light setup with the reflectors with many watts then the fan idea is just fucking awesome best of luck!!

Ok so when i constructed the reflectors for the lights heat became an issue again so i hung a 250 cfm inline booster fan to exhaust that heat. was getting up to 88-89 deg. now with that fan in there it stays at a constant 77 deg with the lights on. Plants are doin good and here are a couple of pics. today will make it 11 days on 12/12 dont know if im just being impatient but it seems like they are growing slow and i dont know if these are buds or not so take a look and please comment.

Are all the plants the same age? Sorry if this was already mentioned, I'm just kinda sleepy. If so then maybe they look like they are growing slower because some are indica or sativa so they just don't grow as tall? Those do look like pistils forming in the picture though : )

Mood:Sad
Bad juju today. was cleaning out my grow area you know sweeping the dirt and wiping down the walls. when i was done started putting the plants back in.(all is good right!)
WRONG started lowering the lights back into position and the Y splitter fell out from the power strip and split one of the plants in half on the main stem.(fucken lights)
tear was about a inch down the main stem so i immediately grabbed some twisty ties and connected it back trying to get it back in perfect place. its together now but dont know if the girl will survive. Hoping it will figured that this is basically the same this as grafting. hope she recovers. gonna be pissed if she doesnt make it.

POLL TIME:
do you think she will make it or you think she might just croak?

Hey rasta, how much are them booster fans going for? I am thinking of using somethin like that. Put 2 at the top an blow the exhaust out. Them girls will be 5 weeks(i think) into flower on Friday. The Blue Dream I read can go up to 10 weeks of flowering, probably cut the tops of the main colas @ 50/50 trich then continue flowering them bottoms. I want a couch-lock from the lowers. Will due a few week cure.

Good job with your reflectors, we pot-heads can come up with some of the best ideas!!! Either them are pistols forming or it is the tips of the leaf-set after the next node starting.

@ SmeLLyTreeZ - I bought the Roller Blind at Lowes for like $20 55x78(rough dimensions) maker is Levolor if ya want to google for a good deal near ya. They have a few kinds light filtering(lets light in), room darkening(blocks light), ther area also larger sizes an 2+ versions of the room darkening. Like deluxe an ultra... I think one blocks more light, the ultra I think is the thickest.

*edit*
Damn rasta, hate to hear of such things happening. I should of said something or asked. I thought that might happen with mine so I went a bought a bag of rubber bands an doubled 2 into 1 band an put each looped end in the middle of each y an then over the top of the power-strip. I do that twice per light batch an once for the 3-way i have also. Keeps them snug, I had one batch drop on tha Blue Dream mother bout half way through vegg.

I think it will survive!
