1st attempt...having some problems =\

First attempt....the system is based on the stealth hydro kit....Anyways the leaves are starting to turn yellow n ish as you can see in the pictures....We got some bad information and didnt actually start using any nutrients untill about a week and a half after growth...The yellowing started b4 we added nutrients but has gotten worse sence....we used only 1/4th strength of the stealth hydro nutes.....we got a fan on them....The only thing i can really think is maybe the water? We just used tap watter which the stealth hydro instructions say is fine... IDk what else to do to bring these things back....Were using 4 48'' floros 2 cool 2 warm for lighting but i dont think thats the problem

yellowing is usally a sign of overnuting or some type of pest. either way they arent good.

they look fine to me man. just make sure that you pull the tap root (piece at the bottom that opened the seed), is hanging out of the bottom of the net cup.

What is the ph of your water and also the ppm and the ppm of yopur water b4 nutes?

idk man they look reallly sick idk if u can tell in the pics or not here are some more...they look like they are about to die.... the setup again:

tap water with 1/4th SH nutes running 24/7
4 floro tubes for lighting
4 air stones...2 in res. 2 in grow tray

umm i didnt balance the water ph or anything just added the nutes str8 to the tap water.....i had a hunch that maybe that was the problem...so i just got back from the store with a ph test kit (which i cant really tell for sure) but i think the pH was at like 6.8 and i think i brought it up to 7.2 but i must be color blind cuz these ph strips are hard to tell.... however b4 using the nutes and tap water we were using distiled water and still they were starting to yellow and now brown and dry up...

is it possible they dont have enough nutes? i only put in half the nutes of the grow and half of the micro (which is for 6 gallons of water) ...however i have a 12 gal res so half of the bags would actually equal 1/4th strength....i was reading rosemans post on his sh venture and he said to mix half the bag which would be half strength...

dude, cmon get some common sense and get the dropper ph kit the color your water turns can be held right up to the chart to get a pretty accurate reading.

There should be a little dropper kit that you can get from a hydro shop for like 5 bucks, it will last a while.

I had a kit that sounds just like yours and it sucked, get the ph dropper kit and youll be set for that, then get some general hydroponics ph down and up

or surf you tube for grow videos, you need to edjuhkate yourself.

i dont know shit about ph adjustments. i use spring water that comes straight out of a mountain that i live on its usually around 6.5 when i check it (about once a year). They are bad looking i apologize that i didnt see that before. stop giving them any nutes for a while and see if they dont recover. I believe that that would help them. I dont give plants any nutes till the second node.

A proper ph kit is an absolute must for growing hydroponically. You simply can't do without it. Even the most seasoned grower can not assess ph manually. Suck it up and get your ass to the pet store and get yourself a kit. I recommend getting an electric meter. It'll cost you 60 bucks but it will relieve this entire headache in one go. Quarter to half strength nutes is fine for the first couple of weeks,then go to full. Your plants will be fine if you do this. MJ is a resilient little plant and can bounce back from almost anything. Even a rookie without a ph meter

Let me warn you about the electronic ph meters, they don't tell you this but you also you have to buy a ph Calibration solution, which, the instructions that come with your ph meter will say exactly what kind to get that works best for the meter that you choose. Be prepared to buy that as well.

If you have the money get yourself a hanna pen, it measures ph, ec/ppm. You want your water to be between the range of 5.2 - 6.2 ph for hydro, I keep mine around 5.7 - 5.8. Depending on your tap water, you'll already have a ppm of about 100 - 300, at that stage of growth, I wouldn't have the ppm above 400. Most likely your nutes will lower the ph of you water, so adjust your ph after you add them in. Cover up the exposed rockwool as well, you don't want any algae growth. Grab some panda film and use that, if you can, the white side up, to help reflect the light to the underside of the leaves.

I agree - check that pH - as Gyp says - 5.2 - 6.2 for hydro. And it looks like you're using rockwool, which along with your nutes, will mess with your pH.

Rockwool should be fine after soaking in the correct ph for a night
