1st autoflower grow

im an experienced grower with regular and feminized seeds with regulars being my favourite.
however ive recently moved to a warmer part of europe and thought i´d try my hand at growing autos as i never thought much of them before.
i grew 2x kannabia hobbit and 2x auto destroyer from ossc.
i cant believe how quick they were and how good the quality was. they only took 60-70 days from germination. i am a total convert, autos are definitely the way to grow outside. all it cost me was a bag of good quality soil, water and seeds. so easy everybody should give it a go, its a lot less complicated to my usual hydro set up indoors.

they are brilliant, so easy and very little work and expense!
however i still prefer regulars because once i have found a nice phenotype i like to keep it as a mother plant so the supply of my strain never ends and that is something that an auto will never be able to give you but they are brilliant and i will keep doing them outdoors whilst keeping my regulars indoors.

You could just spray the pheno of the auto you like with CS and let it seed itself the seed's will be very similar

i currently use STS in an indoor programme as i think it is more effective than colodial silver if i selfed an auto that auto would be no good as it would be full of beans whereas if i take cuttings they finish the vegative stage quicker than seeds.

I make my own beans with CS too and I can grow 9 different strains every grow and not bored growing the same plant clones over and over.

I have one that finishes in 65 days from seed and great smoke hard to beat that.

I grew 9 different strains on my last grow and will do 9 more different strains this grow unless I want to grow one again.

that sounds good. i keep 7 different regular mothers that range from heavy indica to high sativa and a lot in between.
just out of interest how many beans do you average each time you use CS? and from what size plant?

I reversed two fems to make pollen kept them small in 1 gallon containers and then pollinated a couple branches of each type of pollen on my regular sized plants.

I got two crosses from each plant so 18 crosses total from my last grow and got 50-200 beans per strain.

The mothers were still great smoke after I de-seeded the branches that has seeds.

thats basically the methods that i use but instead i tend to make oil or hash out of the seeded plants.
i can see that you are using LED lights, i havent used them myself yet as i am stuck on HIDs. have you used HIDs in the past? if so how do they compare to LEDs in your opinion. such as how are they in vegative growth? plant structure? plant vigour? flowering? yield?

I make hash out of the stems and trim, but the bud is great smoke even after deseeding.
I have had people say that's some of the best smoke they ever had,Its all organic, so the taste is incomparable if you just smoke only nute grown.

LED is the future man better jump on the bandwagon and save your self a lot of heat and money on electric bills, they are getting better and better not the cheap junk of just a few years ago, I use full spectrum 5 watt diodes.

I can get 90-110 grams off a plant in 65-80 days of nice dense bud with LED with out all the heat, I would never go back to the old school lights and cant believe there are people that still use them in this day and age and in a grow tent I don't see how it even works with all that heat.

This will be my first grow.I have feminized auto-flower bubblelicious seeds that I am going to germinate in the garage under led lighting then move them outdoors.Any suggestions on when to move them outside or any other
pointers would be very helpful.

Yes one very important thing with LED's is they suck the Cal-mag out of auto's so have plenty on hand and add with every watering after they get 2-3 weeks old and having some lime in the soil will help with that as well.

I would wait three weeks at least and take time to harden them off a little at a time if you can having a fan on them while they are young will help the stems support the plant better once they get into weather.

Why is it that LEDs do that and not other lights? This is my first time with led and I'm noticing that they keep wanting more calcium. They got rust spots I fool at fed with lime it went away and about two weeks later it came back again.

I am using a 24inch led strip light to get them started,(2 plants)how close to the plant containers should the light be?

I heard autos were weak. I decided to see for myself. I grew a Buddha variety pack. F'ing fire. Lol. I'm sure there are bad autos.

These turned out to be two hit quit.

So anyone on the fence, just try some. You might be surprised.

My Autos have been very surprising too. Some have more potency than some of the photos I've grown. For instance Auto Ultimate and that new Fantasmo Express have excellent potency.

How many watts is the LED? What brand?

I am not sure, and there is plenty of speculation as to why the cal-mag def. happens with LED but it does so keep ahead of it I use Epsom salt and molasses and a bit of bone meal in my tea's

I keep mine about 34 inches to start and they grow up to it, but running two lights and get a bit more stretch that high I have tried 24 inches and that's good too.

I am smoking on some cured Auto ultimate from my last grow, its great smoke and a good yielder. I grew out Mesphito's sour crack too and it was tasty smoke but bred as a short plant so didn't yield a lot. would like to try the Fantasmo I do have a few other strains of theirs, like the Hubbabubbasmelliscope and Sour Orange Diesel Kush, I cant wait to try.
