ok so i started my CFL grow on Jan 8th. I germed 4 seeds, all 4 sprouted. 2 were planted on the 8th and 2 on the 9th. Im using 4 23 watt CFL's, plan to double when i flower. I got 2 computer fans exausting and a 6" fan blowing inside. Temp is around 85 deg and low 70s at night and 30% humidity all the time. My plants are growing good (about 3") but they have some little yellow spots on some tips of the leaves and the leaf veins are a little yellow too. At first i was just spraying them, but the soil dried after couple hours. so obviously started watering more at a time. Been making sure soil is moist for about a week and yellow spots are still there. My medium is 1/3 perlite btw. So i got a couple if Q's.

1.Is the amout of lights om using good? or should i add?
2.How much water should i give them?
3.I was thinking of starting flowering really early was thinking after week 2 or 3. any suggestions?
4.Anyone know what is causing the yellowness? ( i did start nutes but it was yellowing before i started)

Thank you for checking it out. Will try to get pics up soon. Any answers or responses are appreciated!

pics would help alot but to help answer these
1. how big are your contai00ners?
2. how man nodes does your plants have

you have pleanty of light for now specaily for so young make sure you have your lights at least 6-8 inches away from the plants there still really young. if you have them any closer that could be causing heat spots on those young girls hense your yellowing. also you should really try to lower those temps to 75F during the day.

also with watering a good thing to do is water really good and than dont give them any water untill the soil is almost dry than water again. a easy way to tell in stick your finger 2 inches into the soil and if its dry water if its moist wait another day. roots need time to dry and take in oxygen. they cant just sit in water. MAKE SURE TO GET THOSE PICS UP

oh and also i hope your not using full streghth nutrients on them you could be giving them nute burn another possible cause of the yellow spots and most likely sense there so young back off the nutes a bit

They are too young to be using nutes, that's probably what the problem is. Usually you don't start nutes until they are at least three weeks old, unless you notice a deficiency before then. That's enough light for now - but I would add more soon, you won't be happy with the results for four plants under that small amount of light. As for watering them - slowly add water, and keep adding, until it just begins to drain out the bottom. Stop - and don't water again until the medium is dry. (Insert finger about two inches into the soil - feel moisture? It's too soon! Dry? Water!)

Plants are about 5 in away from light. Just started nut (ff grow big) but only used once so far and only at 1/4 solution. pots are 4" square pots. room dim are 1'x2'x3' (DxWxH) w/ adjustable shelf, prob not enough room, but since they're not fem seeds not planning on 4 plants the whole time plus i dont want them too big anyways its just for personal. I cant seem to get temp down lower than 81 degs idk why i have 2 exausting comp fans blowing at full speed. The yellowness i know is not from nutes cuz it started happening when they first got the first set of leaves.

Tried to get pics up but having problems.

Hey man I got some info for your grow.
Light is a big factor.. I normally use atleast 2 23w lights per plant so i would say add atleast 2-4 more

Water also is a huge factor.. Over watering is the number one death to homegrown marijuana plants. I would rather under water rather than over water. Wait for the top of your soil to completely dry up to crust. Once this has happened feel into the soil to see if 1-2 inches down if it is moist. If so wait till the next day, if not your good to water. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT OVER WATER!

You can flower when ever you please but I would wait until your plant is about 8 inches to 12 inches tall.. Although it depends on how much room you have to grow.. My recent grow (blue dream clone) only needed 2 weeks of vegging and it continued to sprout up to about 3 feet tall.. Check it out for some good info..Let me know what you think https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/295171-cfl-grow-blue-dream-clone.html

The yellowing I can not see to clearly from your pictures but add some more and ill let you know what i think

The yellowness is hard to see on the tips of the leafs but you can kinda see it in the veins how they're lighter in color.
Would take better pics, but thats the best my camera does.
I think im gonna start flowering at 3 week mark(2 weeks today) but we'll see how they grow maybe sooner but no later. i kinda just wanna see how these come out since they're just bagseed not too worried about perfection.

Anyone know how that odor gel works and how well? was gonna use homemade carbon filter but dont know if i could make it work with my comp fans. Smell aint a big worry but i dont want it through my whole house.

Thanks again for the info

Just purchased a 22" florecent t8 light, plan on putting that up tomorrow.

How far away should plants be from the florecent? I have never used on but i decided i would purchase one for more light.

Pics after i get it up tomorrow.

Still dont know why veins are yellow but it hasent gotten any worse.

Florescents put out a larger amount of heat with not as much light, but are still a good attachment to your grow room. Though i notice that you say your grow room is already at 85 degrees.. So make sure after you add the florescent light that your heat does not rise anymore otherwise I would advise not adding it..

keep them about 2 inches away from your light

And do a good inspection for bugs just incase the yellowing is occuring from that. LETS HOPE NOT!
If so leave a post and ill give you some info on getting rid of them, and help you identify your pest..
Best place to check for them are underneath the leaves, especially big fan leaves but seeing how your plants are still small, check under all the leaves and see if anything is crawling in the dirt..

Keep me posted.

Yep, it should, as long as the ambient temp of the room you're drawing from, is at least 10 degrees cooler than your growbox.
