1st design and setup.

Thanks to a few friends, I have started ordering and starting to get my setup operational.

Veg room is 2x6x8 flower is a 4x4x8 tent.

One question is fresh air. Would it be wise to pull outside air 'basement air' or is it the same to just take fresh air from the room its in? I know its ok to pull from the room, i just wondered if its better to get outside fresh air?

I think the most important question is, what are you doing with the exhaust? If you are exhausting back into the room, an outside air intake won't do much if anything for you. If you exhaust outdoors, fresh air will find a way in by itself.

to the attic out a vent.

i just received my secret jardin 120. love the tent, but it has a rip in the top front corner. It lets alittle light in. I contacted the seller no reply. So, i had my wife try to sew it up. i put it back together and it ripped a little more. it has about a 3 " hole in the corner now. My question is, is it going to be a big deal with a little hole leaking some light in?

Seconding mondo frog... if you don't want hermies (and possibly other issues), stop light leaks.

The *only* type of light that is ok for a lights-out-period flower room is a green light. Otherwise it MUST be light proof.

ok thanks. I'm thinking 8pm to 8am would be best dark 12 for me.


Next question is. In my veg room, I have a 4' 6 bulb T5. I want to have 2 mama's in there and my clones. Would it be ok to keep the mama's in a 3 gallon pot? Once they go to the Flower tent, I have 5 gallon pots.

I'm setting up my tent and I have a quick question. My carbon filter is on the right side of the tent and I'm venting out the left side. Does it matter which side the duct goes into the light? The way its setup is the duct goes into the open side of the hood and runs out the light socket side of the hood.

Cut all my holes and tomorrow will be running the duct work. I have a 6 in duct going through a wye, 4" reducer in the veg room. Question, does the duct work have to be a certain length to have more air flow? or is it ok to just connect the duct work and make it as short as possible?

i have a 1k watt in my 4x4 flowering tent. Will i need to dim it down or keep it at 100%. I plan on 4 plants to be in the tent.

I would think a 1Kw would be quite hard to keep cool in such a small tent. I hope it's air cooled, and the tents intake is drawing in some nice chilly air.

you may have to dim it.

Three gallon pots would be fine for a mom. Basically the bigger the pot the bigger the plant thus allowing you to cut more clones. Enzymes such as Cannazym or Hygrozyme will help your roots stay healthy and prevent your plant from becoming root bound. Use a fertilizer with a low salt content designed for veg. Keep the plants thinned out to prevent pests and mildews from forming. I would recommend spraying with Dyna-Gro neem oil at 3 teaspoons per gallon and Coco-Wet (wetting agent) at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon every 7 days to ensure your moms stay clean. Nothing worse than cutting on a plant with pests or powdery mildew.

I couldn't pipe it directly outside, but I did run it right under the vent that goes outside. close to the ridge cap. Should I look at going back up there and pointing it directly out that vent? I just thought it would look funny blowing hot air out the side of my house in the winter. also there is nothing else i can tap into. there is only plumbing vents.
