1st Ever CFL Grow

looks much better, you have a while before you have to worry about nutrients. generally when the first leaves yellow completly its time for a very light feeding (1/16-1/8th strength) lights look good for now, your keeping them close and thats very important right now as it keeps node spacing tight and reduces stretching. when you get the males sorted out (another 3-6 weeks the will preflower if you dont go into flower by than) you can rearage the lights. generally the first plant will need about 6 cfls as the rule of thumb (looks like your using 26w cfl's) each other should use 4 but you can get away with 2 if you figure in using some of the lights from the first plant.

you will want to light the whole plant as it grows so some cfls will be up top and a few will be covering the middle/bottom. thats where the lighting will benefit the most as cfls wont penitrate the fan leafs very well and you will only yield from the top instead of all over like you want. that will come in time though as you have a ways to go yet. lloking good for a start though.

Looking good. Generally unless they are showing a deficiency, you don't start nutes until they are three weeks of age. Then start out with about 1/4 strength and work up from there.

I looked at them today at around noon and 2 of them have white stuff on the dirt haven't looked to closely wanted to ask on here first what it mite be and what it is should I put sum pics up ?

There is 12 bulbs and a 18" tube light in there thats good for now don't you think ? 8 daylight 6500k , tube soft white 3500k ,3 soft white 2700k !! update I transplanted 2 more in that soil I'm not going to put any more in that kind its getting fuzzy stuff on top of it it went away but not sure what it was any info ???

Well I transplanted the rest of them into MC African Violet soil it works great and no PH problem at all the whole time it stays between 6 and 6.5 !! And I fixed them 2 that I put in that organic SH!!!!T and they had white fuzzy stuff all over them ?? But there growin good I'll put sum pics up later after I get back from gettin sum smoke thanks for the help

Got my smoke !! So I'm better now these r my two babies what ya think ??

hey barnsey, im getting back to you about your root knots from the pcc thread. didnt seem like the place to do plant sickness stuff. if you can put a pic up id be glad to give you my .02, but as with all advice from a stranger on the internet, take it with a grain of salt. better yet a handful of salt. whatever it is, i would avoid recirculating water through that soil and dont mix it with other soil. i found a link about root knot nematodes, this may help.
http://www.avrdc.org/pdf/tomato/nematode.pdf

Hey thanks for the fast reply I took sum pics what do ya think hope you can c them alright ? And no I didn't reuse the soil its new I transplanted it today and took them little things off they pretty much fell off like they were falling off already ??

wow. those really are mushrooms. hard to see but they look like hay mushrooms. never mind the root knot link i sent you. ive seen LBMs growing out of soil before, didnt seem to affect growth. you should play some barry white in your grow room, roll out a nice shag rug and set up some mood lighting. if you can get the plant and the shroom to do it, you might be onto the newest most trippy strain yet...

as far as using new soil, all it takes is one microscopic spore, and think twice about using any more of that soil for your ladies. dont think the shrooms will cause you a problem, as i think they go for different nutrients....i think...

Thanks again ! And they really do look like shrooms I couldn't tell if they were hooked on the roots or just hangin out with them But there gone now Its starting to perk up already hope thats all they were

no prob. some mycelium (mycelium is to mushroom what plant is to bud) grows in soils, but i think they use a different set of nutrients than plants. in fact some are quite beneficial. i train bonsai trees and have had several different types of LBMs pop up in my plantings over the years, but none of them had any noticable effect. they actually looked pretty cool next to the bonsai. i wouldnt worry about it though. just keep an eye on it and try not to spread it. unless they stain blue. if thats the case fedex me the dirt after you harvest...

Thre gettin big almost 5 weeks smell great too !! Enjoy
