1st ever cfl stealth cabinet grow

Hello everyone, thanks for the tips, I haven't got a chance get post lately, but here it is:
Since I haven't found anything viable to make a reflector out of I decided not to hang the light fixtures from the board. Instead I made holes for all the fixtures and the bulbs use the board itself as a reflector. I also cut a big hole in the back for the cage fan to exhaust heat. I can adjust the height of the board via pegs on the walls.

Finally bought a pH test kit and the color of the water was light yellowy/green, but more green than yellow. In the chart yellow was acid 6.0 and green was neutral 7.0.

About 4 days ago I acquired some 8-14-10 Schultz African violet plant food so I gave them some, not the best I know, but it was a freebie so w.e. I've read that tomato food is the next best thing off the shelf but I'm not spending *any $$ yet and when I do I'll look for the right stuff. Anyways she liked the food some because almost overnight all the bud sites got bigger and covered in tiny white hairs.



She is 3-1/2 weeks into flowering and this what the whole thing looks like.


I'm sorry you guys for the crappy/large pics, but that's the only way I can post them since I been running this whole operation from my iPhone. Please let me know what u think and if u guys see something else I could be doing to improve.

That's not too much $$$ I don't think, I've spent about $100 so far, maybe later on when I want to divert funds and get the hang of this I'll get it. Or something like it.

Hey Ubersoldat the grow is really coming along great! love the new lighting, can i ask you what size are the fluro tubes you use for side lighting? What have temps been like if you don't mind sharing! Also that 6" squrill fan is it loud? say compared to a smaller desk fan or small heater? I have a similar grow going check er out bro maybe you can get some new idea's or something? glad i found your thread im going to follow you along as im at week 7 in flower of the aurora indica. Happy token, here's a Uber bong hit for u lol bongsmilie

Thanks for looking at my grow Mikey, I looked at your stuff and it looks like what I want mine to turn out to be like!!
To answer your questions, the flouro tubes are only(4) 8watt 12"inch long at 3000k each. The temps have been at 67F when the lights are off and 77F when the lights are on, mind you I also use a 12"inch fan for intake and to exercise the plants.
Here's the fan that use for exhaust:


I haven't used comp or desk fans... I guess the intake fan is a desk fan lol. I hope that helped.

There's some stuff I forgot to mention before that I want you guys to to take a look at:
I have 365watt total, and 23600 lumens total. My grow space is about 5'ft square, which makes it 71.9watt/sq.ft. and 4664lumens/sq.ft. Is that ok? Do I need more? I've read as a rule of thumb you want 50w/sq.ft. and 4k lumens/sq.ft.
The plant has been repotted to a 3gal pot, with 2"inches of gravel at the bottom which has helped drainage 10fold. Please let me know what u guys think!!!*

Yea nice grow so far man,keep up the good work also do you kno youre fan could i just have my 250w cfl under 3 plants with just a basic fan blowing on them?

Hello every one, it's been quite a while since I updated, but I ton has has happened, and I have bunch of questions.

Iigh so it must me nearing the 6th week, this is what it looks like nowadays


I think I have a hermie, because I had gotten rid of the males as soon as I saw the balls on them weeks ago and just the other day I was inspecting the buds and found what resembled a little sac, take a look.... Again sorry for the shitty pics


So I looked everywhere else for more and could only find 3 or 4 of the same.*
So I cut one off and opened it an it had a seed in it.

Lemme know what u guys think, here's more pics:*


Josh: you can have pretty much any fan you want on them as long as there proper ventilation holes in you cab or w.e your growing in.(I've read tons about tons of grows in here getting by with just computer fans) also it's good if you have the fan blowing on them because it exercises them and gives them nice strong stems which are good for proper water and nutrient uptake. Good luck bro!!!
Eveyone: plz let me know WTF is up with them seeds on a supposedly female plant lol

Whats up Uber, glad to see things still going well. As for the Hermie, I would not sweat it. I had one of my girls pop a few seeds but she is still doing fine. One of the members here stated that he thinks there is a difference between a full blown hermie and a plant just trying to save it's self and I agree with him. It might slow down production of buds but the quality imo is still good.

I am going to let my sedds mature so I can harvest the them to use again for a future grow. Chances are they will be female because af the lack of male pollen to add to their genes.

Anyway it's realy up to you what you want to do about her.

Cool, thanks for words guys! I don't think it's a full blown hermie either, I can only count about 6 total seed 'pods'. Idk I guess I'll find out more after I harvest. Since I'm getting close to harvest, I ask you all: what are some tips for drying/curing? I've read *couple of different ways of goin about it but I'm not sure yet. Ima keep searching tho!

And the new baby, I had others goin a while back but they didn't make lol. I'm goin to try and sprout some more as the weather outside is turning nice I wanna try my hand at some outdoor growing! Wish me luck, I'm dying to see what happens when you let them be for a whole summer of vegging and the harvest at the end of fall.

Hey guys just another bumpdate lol I got to go on a computer! I think the colors on this computer are off cuz all my previous pics look like shit...at least I hope so, if not im sorry guys for the really crappy pics.... I gotta find a way to turn my lights sideways and get some sort of glass shield as I've seen that helps keep the temps down...also maybe I'll get more light exposure out of my cfl's.
also once I'm done with this grow I might have to give into the HID light fad lol i found this

idk im sorry if im not supposed to link other places here but its the cheapest I've seen, i was going to buy a 70w hps outdoor light from Homecheapo and convert into a grow light, but fixture and light bulb were over $120...idk that grow light seemed like a deal at under $100 eh idk summer is on its way and it might get super hot, plus I already started the guerrilla grows, I'll get some pics of those guys in a couple of weeks.

Nice grow. very similar to mine. I am not moved to my dresser cab yet. Still worrying about exhaust at the moment. I have the same fan you do for exhaust, but I didnt think it would be powerful enough. I may try it out and see how it goes. I think mine may be going hermie as well, but mine are not as far into flower. I also have some yellowing on my lower leaves. any tips would be appreciated. Subd.

Hello everybody! I more updates and pics!

7shane6: I never really though about how big she was, but you got me wondering so I busted out the tape measure and here take a look by urself.



And here's little one, I already started to lst and its been on 12/12 for 2 days along with her big sister.

Bigman thanks for the continued support! Unfortunately I haven't gotten a chance to go to the 'sites'. Plus they're more of a I dropped some beans all over the place nice and hidden and let them do their thing and see what turns out in the fall... Idk they were some crappy bagseed so I didn't really care. My real outdoor grow is gonna be of one of the seed on my girl...fingers crossed!
In other news I changed the lighting a bit and I have been adding some bulbs here and there so I did some math to see where I stood, see what you guys think.
Currently I'm running:
1 F15T8 18" tube 15w 3000k 900lumens
4 F8T5 14"tube 8w ea. 3000k 600lumens
2 cfl 30w 2700k 1700lumens
3 26w 6500k 1600 lumens*
8 23w 2700k 1600 lumens*
1 68w 2700k 4200 lumens
All added up if I'm correct it comes out to 437w total and 24,300 lumens
My cab is about 5.5 sq.ft. so I around 4,400 lumens per sq.ft. and about 80w per sq.ft. Idk I think I'm ok all buds are chunky and solid, which I didn't expect since the first 'girl' that was given to me had been grown under cfl's bud the buds were airy and sorta crispy once it had dried lol o well I feel Lucky!

I'm about 2 days from when I wanna harvest, so I had stopped the nutes, and some of the leaves were getting a little iffy. Not too worried though, I'm bout to chop down.... What u guys think?
