1st feeding (8 days old): How much Grow Big & Big Bloom?

My girls are 8 days old and ive decided to feed them since im using pro mix without nutes. Just wondering what other Fox Farm users give for their first feeding. Im pretty hesitant to give any grow big at this stage so i think i might just go with 2 tbl of big bloom and .5 tbl of molasses. Probably not gonna drench the whole 5 gallon pot either, just basically water around the stem. Thoughts?

And also, i keep reading the the FF feeding schedule is way to strong for mj. Can anyone attest to this?

dude, save yourself the hassle and wait another week or week and a half, they are too fragile atm. You know these things do grow in the wild on their own... You will slow the growth of your plant drastically if you burn them this early... :leaf:

I dont know guys. Checkout these two articles ive found that lead me to believe that i should be feeding this early. Thought id share. The second link was taken from the Pro-mix website:

The Joys of Big Bloom

We were thrilled to open up the Sunset Western Garden Book and see that our Big Bloom fertilizer was featured in their section on organic fertilizers. While the Big Bloom name implies that it's a great fertilizer for flowering plants --- and it is -- we found so many more uses for it in our gardens and greenhouses over the years.

As an organic, low NPK fertilizer, it won't burn plants or overload the soil with unnecessary nutrients. For this reason, we use it on young seedlings after two or three sets of leaves have emerged, and we also use it as a drench on stressed plants that have been impacted by adverse weather, pests or disease, or other problems. We have also found that it is indispensable during transplanting -- adding a little Big Bloom to that first watering after new plants go on the ground can really help get them off to a great start.

And remember, Big Bloom is about so much more than NPK. It’s a live culture of vitamins, amino acids, natural growth hormones, enzymes, and beneficial organic microbes. We add earthworm castings, bat guano and other delicious organic ingredients like Norwegian kelp for nutrient uptake and higher yields, plus rock phosphate, which helps transfer energy from one part of the plant to another, delivering bigger buds and more fragrant flowers.

Use Big Bloom on every plant you own, every time you water. It is actually the only fertilizer that can be used over its recommended dosage. In fact, we say the more the merrier. Your plants will love you for it! Give it a try this spring and watch your garden thrive.

Do what you think is right. I wouldnt start with a full dose try a 1/4 dose....good luck...From experience i would wait one more week and then start feeding....happy growing

Depends on what medium your using. If your using soil that already has nutrients in it that will feed for a month then, if it were me, I would wait at least another 2 weeks before I nute them babies.

Peace

Well of course they want you to drown your plant in Big Bloom, because then you have to buy another bottle that much quicker. Taking grow advice from the person trying to sell your more plant food is something you want to avoid.

I would listen to the collective wisdom of the marijuana growers here that responded. Wait until you feed them, and if you absolutely MUST feed, do not go the full dosage. I use the whole FoxFarm line up and I've already learned the problems that come with going max-boogie on a baby plant.

Remember- Underfeeding your plant, although it may give you a lower yield, will still produce good marijuana. Overfeeding your plant can kill it, reducing your yield to zero.

Big Bloom is pretty weak in potency, but still.. your plants roots are in a very delicate stage at thise time. Do what you want, some people just have to learn from their own mistakes. Goodluck :leaf:

Thats all im talking about giving is a couple tbl of big bloom which is 0.01- 0.03 - 0.07. I mean the FF ocean forrest which i swear some people on here love so much theyd probably pay $100 a bag for has a shit load of nutes already in it. Pro- mix has zero. Nada. Did you guys read the 2nd link? It was written by the dudes in the lab coats getting payed 6 figures. And pro-mix isnt trying to sell me nutes. It specifically says " It is essential to begin fertilization within 7 days after planting...".

I use pro-mix and waited until week 3 to give nutes , used DNF and at 1/2 strength. But it's your plants. Do whatever you want to do.
