This is my first grow and i just planted my first 4 pre germed seeds, im hoping for atleast one female, plus i have 96 total watts of CFL to grow them will that work for the entire process of growing? (veg, Flower, etc).

Some feedback and advice would be greatly appeciated!

Hey man! I'm a first time CFL grower as well. Here's some info you could use from my thread:

Thanks a lot, i might have to buy more wattage asap. for now im stuck with wat i have atleast for infant veg, which i think will be good enough.
How far along are you?

My little guy will be 3 weeks from sprouting tomorrow. You should be fine with one bulb for a bit while they start poping out of the soil. I just had one 100w bulb over my plant at first.

i have 3 23 watt 5000 k spectrum and my are doing pretty good. mines bag seed as well. 3 plants in total. do a 24/0 lighting gives them the most photosynthesis, root development will happen even if lights are always on as long as the container your growing in is NOT clear. dnt over water. should do fine. post pix weekly, alot of people will have no problem pointing out errors so you may get the most out of your grow. Thanks a ton you rly helped. Although i have another question for anyone!!!

I had to move my plants to a small bookcase with movable shelf, however the bookcase is only 1ft deep. will that sustain 1 plant??!? maybe 2???
its 3 ft high and 2 ft wide also any help would be very greatly appreciated

If you are using just cfl's and do not plan to upgrade to a HID system, you can get u-haul wardrobe cardboard box. Either paint the inside flat white or get some mylar emergency blankets to reflect the light. All this can be done very cheaply. Make sure you have a couple of small fans for ventilation. The box has a metal bar that comes with it, great for hanging lights and an exhaust fan. +Rep for taking the leap into farming Good Luck!

Oh also the spectrum of light should be in the 6500k range for veg and 2700k for flowering. You can use Y sockets to add more lighting as well.

Thanks a lot, and i would do all that if i could but i already set all my lights up an exhaust fan, an intake fan and a movable shelf so i don't plan on changing what container i have. lol
i guess if anything it will give me the hang of things

def wana see how this turns out too...i just started my first grow with bag seed as well...literally woke up this morning and the first couple (out of 8) sprouts started! time to start a thread...

we should definitely compare notes though!

Fer sure Bro! mine are in the ground, i got 4 i'm hoping for at least 1 fem. i expect they should be sprouted by tom. afternoon-Thursday afternoon.

What kinda light system u using?

I think you are going to need more lights than that. thats sounds good for one plant
