1st Grow - heat problem

First of all I want to salute all of you. Respect.

So... I build a grow room with this dimensions 200cm x 60cm and 160cm h.
In there you can find the following:
- 6 plants :X
- 1 600w HPS
- 1 125w MH
- 2 120mm fans
- 1 mobile AC unit

The problem that I find is that there is a temparature between 26 degree celsius and 35 degree celsius. 26 is the the oposite direction of AC and 35 over the AC unit.
The AC is working at full speed on cooling mode. The AC exhaust is going outside.

So any ideas for this heat problem ?

PS : the plant are 2 days, the grow room is kind of just started.

a cool tube for the 600 will help

Can I do this 'home-made' or something ? Is there any diagram on how to build this ?

Is the AC in the room? Are you using any ducting? the 125watt mh will be fine for the first couple weeks of veg, especially if you got the walls painted white/ covered with mylar/ poly, and like said about got a cool tube or some sort better relfector so that you can get the light closer. Try getting a decent sized fan to help circulate that AC air in there... maybe go the first week with just the mh and then throw in the fan and that 600 watt (maybe a bit of overkill for veg, but then again you will like the results). The first most effective solution is an air cooled relfector with exhaust ducting...

What kind of relfector do you have now? just the whatever winged one? you can create a do it yourself thing with some work... i couldn't say how, the only ones i have seen people make are basically by taking big glass tubes and some how rigging the lights up inside them and attaching ducting onto one side connected to an inline fan or something along those lines... i guess would look like this | airflow --> ==light1==light2==ducting--inline fan. but the light would be relfecting 360degrees so you may rearrange your setup around it... but then that starts to take on a verticle grow sort of thing. um i'll see if i can't find a link for you of the light i'm thinking, but just to clarify you will save yourself a lot of time just to get an aircooled reflector like this http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=49541 . whereas the reflector i'm proposing you make will have similar properties to this: http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=48137 except all glass ha i dunno maybe theres away you could do the glass tube and attach your maxwing reflector on top... hm

I take that your from euro since say 25 degrees. What the temp like outside? Is it chilly? If so feel the air coming from your ducting. If it's to cold outside the ac unit could be freezing up, shit it can even do it when it's hot out. I run a 600hps with 9 plants and a inlinefan ( forget how big). I run my ac on a timer, when the lights are off I have 30mins on and 30 mins off. When lights are on I run it roughly 2 hours on 15 mins off. This gives the ac unit enough time to warm up just in case it freeze from working to long. My temps are between 74-79 degrees fer. I would also suggest if you havnt already to run the ac duct into the bottom of the room place a fan next to the ac outlet. Try to mount your exhaust fan up high so you can pull the hot air from the top, and pushing that warm hot air through your reflector while pulling the cold air through the whole room. Hope this helped.

I'm using ducting for AC exhaust. the walls are white and with aluminium foil on some parts.

what kind of glass is there? Did you buy it, or is from something recycled?

i got it at hobby lobby an arts and crafts store, 600watt you may need a hurricane lamp check out the link i gave you

aluminum foil = bad. If nothing else get some emergency blankets, from your local outdoor store/ camping biking/ walmarts usually have them. They are more reflective than foil and cost like 1.99 for a 6 by 4.

hi again... I've made a DIY cool tube... now I want to know if there is any problem if the HPS lamp is touching the glass tube?

i see you have a 125 watt mh?? is this a metal halid type spot light?? if so take it out or turn it off.
i tryed that and they really produce extra heat it worked for me when i had a heat problem.

I know that the cool tube resolve the heat problem... that's why I've made it .... the question is that is there any problem if the HPS lamp is touching the glass tube... ??

touching but allowing a good air circulation .... but the things improved only with 1-2 degrees .... now I have 32 degrees celsius near the babies (under the direct light) and 34 degrees upper, near the exhaust .... I think I need to put another cooler, more powerful ... This one has 95m3/h ... I have one with 107m3/h ... I will try that ... and I will go down with the temperature in the room ... Now is 24-25 degrees in the room ...

ok ... so I've tried with the cool tube... the temps are still too high...
I came back to you guys for and advice ... I want to switch the HPS light for some CFL's ... Is there any chance for the babies to stress ... or to stun? Is very important because I can't deal with the heat right now ... I maybe put back the HPS on the flowering time .... is that ok??
