Balancing PH without a tester and ph up and down is probably a huge pain. It's nute burned because the soil has nutes in it already, and it just doesn't need anymore for awhile. I suggest you go with plain water till you can invest in PH up and down. You can get everything you need at a Pet store in the aquarium section or a pool store if you don't want to wait for shipping.
Baka is right. Water from your tap is most likely too high and needs to be lowered not raised. PH testing is one of the most important parts of growing so just relax until you can get the kit..the whole pack (Ph up and down, and testing solution) is really inexpensive and lasts forever. I can usually balance a few gallons of water using litterally 2-3 drops

i just wanted you to explain why you thought it was nut burned so i could learn what to look for im just trying to get some experiance man so i dont have to ask so many questions

well think i checked the plants just now and the leaf tips are turning brown on the larger plant that has been drooping and the smaller one is still yellow im afraid im going to lose it if something doesnt change soon i need to find a way to raise the ph of the water i use with something at home because i cant get any dolomite lime or ph up/down today. i need to raise it some to about 6.5 or so so any suggestions on what to use i would apreciate.
USUALLY, brown, or burned looking leaf tips are what you want to be aware of first, but as time goes on, you will get more comfortable, noticing your plants might have light specs, or lower leaves lighter green, and you will know it is one of 3 or 4 things, instead of going into a panic, and pulling your hair out.
Certain things though, will require further diagnosis.
It's a growing experience man, and you'll get into the groove, just be patient.
Here's a couple charts, that if you save, will help you in the future, I'm sure.
As far as me explaining everything 'so you don't have to ask so many questions', don't worry.
If I didn't answer something here, I'm sure somebody else can/ will.:wink:View attachment 2643557View attachment 2643558

ok so heres an update havent been on for a couple days ive been using just water for the past week or so i ended up taking the smallest plant out cause it was way behind the others and pretty much just taking up space so ive just been using water out of the tap and as far as i can tell with the ph test strips i have it comes out of the tap between 6.5 -7.0 so lucky me i guess not much to change there. the other 3 look great getting big ill prolly post some pics later i trimmed some of the lower limbs off cause im pretty much just aiming for one big top cola. the one plant that was drooping is starting to get back to normal so everything is going well ill try to post some pics later

Yea, I think its a little early to tell but in my experience, if you see anything round at all even tiny tiny round balls it's a male.

Lookin good J. Ur not gonna train them? And in about another week u will see sex.
thanks cheeba i havent really decided what im going to do with them yet i trimmed the lower leaves as you can tell from the pics to get all the light i can to the lower part of the plants. ive never really trained plants before so i might give it a try just for the experiance when would i start doing it ? and which type of training do you prefer? i have t5's hanging over the top then i have cfls hanging down around all of the plants so im gettin light coverage on all sides and the top so any advice as to training will be appreciated.

ok thanks beech i guess ill just wait and keep an eye out for white hairs

also has anyone used the light sockets that have a plug in on the other end? i am just making sure if they are safe cause im thinking of rigging up another couple of lights with them and a surge protector so i can get up around 300w + and also where can i get one of those big tube style cfl bulbs that goes in a regular socket like the ones that are like 140w or something like that?

Yea i see the trim job... well done. Some ppl say dont take away the big fan leaves, but if they are blocking buds sites... why not. Ur setup sound perfect for even lights spacing. Since u havent tried training i would say start off with LSTing(low stress training) Basically u bend the main stalk over allowing all of those lower nodes to grow vertically instead of growing outward. Then u continue to tye those chutes down allowing all the bud sites to become top colas (aka most potent part of the plant, where most of the energy is focused)
I LST all of my plants. That little bit of stress sends then into a frenzy themmm.jpg

as a matter of fact cheeba i just did go check on them and lst'd them right before i saw this post i tied a string around the top and bent them down and taped it to the side of the pot so how long should i leave them tied or should that stay indefinitely? i tied down the bigger 2 and left the smallest as it was because as i was trying to bend it it was just seeming like it was going to pull it out of the ground so i left it hopefully the 2 i did tie down will respond well to it

yeah i can pretty much tell now the 2 larger ones turned out to be male and the smallest one is a female she started showing some white (pistols)? around the top today so i removed the other 2 and kept her in the tent and added a couple more i had growing outside that are kind of small but atleast i have one female :) so now i guess i can start focusing most of my attention on her i lst'd her today so im hoping she responds well it sucks that i only got one out of 3 but hell with it its better than nothing so hopefully she will produce well ill put up some pics tomarrow since she is sleeping now

I had the same luck on last grow, only one female, but it was well worth it, about 2.25 zip. I'm subbed, carry this out to the end.
