I am planning out to do my 1st grow.
I have been doing research, and as my first grow i am on a budget.
We are getting Chronic seeds right now (as i said cheap budget).
How many should i get? Just to ensure about that 6 will germinate.
I am planning on settin up a flood/drain system, using 1 400W HPS light.
Places 6 plants in plant baskets with holes in them, and using a Lava rock or Clay pellets. So where should i put the seed once it germinates?
And i plant to use nutrients like liquid seaweed, and from a vid i heard about using peroxide? But this nutrients need to be able to be bought at like a wal mart, or home depot. some place like that.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D

get an organic potting soil and use that (no time release synthetic nutrients a la miracle gro)

don't mess with hydro yet, soil is simpler and more forgiving, and creates great quality bud...

as far as how many seeds to get i say get 3x the number of plants you want to harvest. so if you want 6 plants get 18, that ensures that you get enough females and in case a few don't germ you have a little buffer.

Yeah, you cant grow hydro with nutrients from wal mart or home depot, sorry man. Either you need to find a hydro shop in your area that sells a proper full system of nutrients, or you have to grow organic in some good soil. Your just not gonna be able to find good nutes for weed at home depot and walmart.

I am very new to this, my first ever grow is in its 5th week of flowering.. but is doing so so great in the FF ocean forest soil. You can order it here at www.htgsupply. com
they seem very nice and ship very quick. Although I dont reccomend buying their carbon filters, didnt work at all for me, got a CAN yesterday and no more smell! peace

Depending on where you are located, you should check your local phonebook for plant nursurys, go to the one with the biggest ad, chances are they will have the best selection of soil and fertilizers.

If your ordering stuff online, I would Highly suggest ordering the full system of Advanced Nutrients hydro nutes, then use a neutral soiless medium (like Promix HP, or Sunshinemix #4, both of those are SOILLESS Dirt mediums (pete moss mostly)

Soilless means it is neutral, it has no nutrients which means you will be adding all the nutes yourself during watering (order the advanced nutes system) This is much better because you wont be burning your plants from the soil. And when you want to flush you actually can.

Real organic is a whole new ballgame, and I would argue that growing Good organic is harder then hydro just because of the massive amount of options for soil and fertilizers, and its less forgiving, once your plants are in the soil/fert mix they are there, you really have to predict a lot to determine your soil mix.

Oh and you can get a block of Promix HP or sunshine mix #4 almost anywhere (home depot, walmart is seasonal I think, any nursury should have it)

botanicare makes good nutrients for veg and flowering id suggest trying them out, foxfarm works pretty well for both but i hear you have to mix nutes with their products for optimal effects
