1st grow pointers and tips.

What I do is go off the weight of the pot. So before your next watering, when you know it's dry (when you 2 knuckle it and it's dry wait an extra day or two, or till the leaves start dropping, to know its really dry) lift the pot and acclimate your arm(s) to the weight of it when it's dry, then water till partial run off. After you water again acclimate your arm to the weight of the pot when it's fully saturated. That way all you have to do is come in to your grow room, pick up the pots (now I also record the day I water and start to realize that it's USUALLY dry after X amount of days but I still check the weight), and if they are light enough you know it's time to water. No having to get your fingers dirty and no guessing.

Also, to directly answer your question, if you over-potted then it would be more difficult to tell when to water, yes.
ok awesome thank you....so what, at most maybe i set my op back by a few days right? and im guessing you do not recommend transplanting to a solo cup to counter the over watering right?

Yea I saw your other post and I wouldn't recommend transplanting to solo cups or anything like that. You may have set yourself back a couple days, maybe, but in the grand scheme of things it really isn't going to hold you back that much as long as you don't exacerbate it further. In other words, K.I.S.S. my brother, they will be fine. Keep asking questions though, and reading, that's how you evolve as a grower (along with experience of course)

sweet thats what im going to do...got my environment dialed in and now ready for daily checks and auto pilot for a bit. we will see how this first op goes...im learning...im reading....im exchanging ideas...but my main goal is to teach this form of horticulture in some years after experience ....teaching is the best form of learning.
