1st inside grow. Week 13: The state of things.

First round is almost done. Or is it?

Feel free to comment.

Topogrow 3x3
FFHF soil
GH Flora Nova Bloom
VS XS1500 Pro CR600
Fecida CR600

18/6

I finally figured out these girls have been starving. The XS1500 pro was a huge improvement to the tent. And…. Feed your plants!

Started the grow with a light that came with the tent. UFO something or other. It wasn’t too long before I realized the 100w circle wasn’t going to do the trick. The light is too focused. Got a cheapo 65w to try and supplement. Still not enough. Not in love the (65w)Fecida but will definitely carry a plant through an early veg. Got a good deal on a XS1500 Pro. Quite an improvement. Hind sight, I should have bought 2 but figured I could supplement with the other two lights if needed. Been almost a week with the new light. I thought I was almost ready to harvest when I got the newfound sunshine. But the girls have started packing on weight. Stunted flower started blooming again. Getting more dense. Both lights 100% at about 14”. UFO is packed away. For now.

Increased water and nutrients when the new light got rigged up. New drip trays. Flushed the old girls today. New girl(DSD) got half dose of GH Flora Nova last night. It was a good soak.

Old Girls:
MSNL GSC auto
MSNL Cherry Pie auto (freebie)
MSNL Purple Lemonade Auto (currently drying).

On the rise:
MSNL Dos Si Dos auto(freebie)
Blimburn $2 Mimosa Cake Auto

All started in soil. 100% germ and sprout. Started many tomatoes and peppers. Familiar with seed starting and veg. Sometimes I get fruit.

Anybody care about a $2 seed ‘round
here?

Trying to get a perpetual grow going without maxing the tent. While I definitely want to maximize the space, I’m going in looking for ounces not pounds while keeping options open for new strains. Keeping expectations tempered. But man, this has been fun so far!

Long way to go but getting better. This forum, among others, has been very helpful. I’ll stay tuned if you will!

Chopped Girl Scout cookies tonight. Yield will be significantly better than the Purple Lemonade I trimmed this evening. 41g for the purp. Not a very impressive yield but I’m ok with it. Trimmings are simmering on the double boiler with 2 sticks of butter. Buds are a not very dense but loaded with trichromes. It looks and smells like it’ll grind into some decent rolling smoke.

Cherry Pie is not too far behind. Flushing. I’ll probably chop it this weekend. I’ll evaluate then. Crazy how the buds have bulked up since adding the new light. As bad as she looks and was treated, she’s not giving up.

Mimosa cake is in her cozy cell. Seems happy for now. Around day 5 for her. Helped her remove her “helmet” on day one. I’ll probably transplant this weekend into her permanent 3 gal bag. I’ll evaluate then.

Dos Si Dos sprouted 10/24. Responding well to LST. Leaf tucks a couple times a day. Canopy not even. Need to hone my training methods. She got a straight watering this evening. Will give good soak of Flora Nova Bloom next go around. Will stick with half strength for now. Or, should I nudge it a little more? Thinking I want to alternate the waterings this way. Get some runoff you dummy! Several days into early flower. Looking like she’s ready to stretch.

Plants seem happy with the new light rig. I think the Fecida is doing a nice job pulling up the slack but certainly far from ideal. IMG_0625.jpeg

You have some great things going on in here. I check out most auto grows lately. I just started some last month for the first time. All doing well so far.
A trim you say? I've always been one to remove leaf through the entire grow. Nothing real crazy but if a leaf blocks a lot of light it's gotta go..lol. I train them down a lot too. I've not trained a auto before but lately seem to be responding well to my twisting and cavorting ways.
I look forward to following your progress. This should be a good show.

Thank you!

Some of the older, larger, darker fan leaves I’ve just been tucking so far. I’m unsure of how much and where to trim at this point. The last two plants I didn’t start defoliating until some of leaves started wilting or turning yellow. They were underfed and under-watered so some of those leaves gave up voluntarily and were easy to spot. I see the scrog setups and how the bottom half of the plant is basically trimmed to nothing. I want to borrow that idea but am afraid of removing too much. My buddy got too carried away defoliating his last plant and it hermied on him. Desperately trying to avoid that. We are both newbies but having fun while comparing notes.

From what I’ve seen so far, LST is definitely helping open up the plant and allowing some would be larf to develop into decent sized popcorn buds. However, this is where my trim question comes into play. Less LST and more trim for fatter nugs? Trying to get this one right.

Wanted to wait a couple more days to chop Cherry Pie but I have a busy schedule this week. Her bag was almost bone dry and it was just best to get it done this evening. This might be the best yet. Super sticky, heavy, dense buds. Trimmed the easy stuff before hanging. 3 hangers full of fatty buds.

Mimosa Cake is finally catching on. Hopefully things will start speeding up now.

Did some light trimming underneath Dos Si Dos. First time for this one. Going at it conservatively. Took the restraints(LST) off this evening. I’ll let her go a couple days like this and see if she’ll stretch a little bit. Hit her with 1/2 strength Flora Nova Bloom.

That cherry pie turned up nice. The others are coming along as well. I'm really starting to like autos. The continuous harvest deal appeals to me. I just ordered a lot of fresh auto seed from a guy on another forum. Dude has bred some nice autos so for $.50-1 a seed I can't pass that up. My auto seedbanks is empty but not for long..lol.

I'm curious to see how that Mimosa goes.
