1st setup closet with LED

ok led unit has been decided on
120W LED Light with R,B,W,UV 6/1/1/1 ratio(1:1 ratio of the 660s and 630s)

paying monday, then it should arrive within 11 working days not to bad and i saw your unit had ir i was thinking i could get a cheap ir light and add this to the room also in the future
now that i have the lighting down i need to move onto the air flow/filtration im gona have a read of the HRV manual and see if it sucks or blows so i can see how i will use it if it blows ill use it for adding air because the roof air may be a bit hot.. and if it sucks i got my exhaust set up already

and the verdict is in it blows welcome clean air to the growing room with minor temp control have a read http://www.hrv.co.nz/how-does-it-work.aspx and its all already set up i just have to move the hose from the room to the closet

so this is the plan as it stands at the moment would really like feed back.
I move the hrv duct from the bedroom into the closet. and add ducting so it extends to floor level this means i will have filtered air with minor temp control blowing into the closet. then i add a hole to the roof and add the fan blowing into the the filter and out the old hrv vent. sounds simple to me. The original plan was to pump the air out side by adding a vent out side but this had the downsides of having to add a vent out side and if the filter went then the neighbors would be the first to know.

also as i have said we will remove the roof of the closet and turn this into a man hole stye roof so that when its time to leave the house it will all check out fine. a bit worried about noise from vibration so will place a rubber lining around the seal of the "man hole" this should hopefully also serve the purpose of an "O" ring and stop air leakage from the roof.

also would it be worth while when we get the set up running getting a second filter and setting it up so when the first stops running all i have to do is swap over the ducting.

Heya guys I've found a nice place for LEDS and other grow accessories. I've bought a few LED grow lights from them in the past and they're affordable (well some are) many f you probably already have used this site hidhut.com. just my 2 cents!

ran into a design flaw if i pump the air out of the room into the carbon filter ... does that have to be the end of the line... as i want to the duct it back into the room the closet is in.
so my question is can a carbon filter be inline or willl we have to build a box around it then have the piping leaving this to the vent?

and does that make sense?

ok so edits to my plan so far are
cant be bothered turing roof into manhole this was a nice idea but yea. plan as it stands for this drill holes into roof when i go to move put new roofing on top i doubt anyone will notice the few cm of diff.

cant vent out of the hole that is in the office2B so ill just close the vent in there and vent into the roof.. ANYthing wrong with this idea?


also will be biulding a lil rack in the bottom of the closet so the plants can sit on it and drain into a bucket underneath

OK had a look at fans today was at a complete loss could some one answer these questions for me please
My room is 1.36 m3 how many m3/hr exhaust/extractor fan will i need? (would go over size but price is a factor)
Whats the difference between an exhaust fan and a extractor fan?
what type of max pressure should i look at in a fan? (measured in pa?)
whats type of ducting and what size should i be looking at?

Did some work on the closet today.
emptied it of all the shit that was in it.
cut a hole (150mm)
put mylar up
moved vent fan that goes into room into closet
not a lot but its starting to look the part ... starting

also have made a stand for the planter box to sit on so that i can have the water drain into a bucket.

Good job abecsta! My friend used to use that 150mm fan but ever since he changed to the centrifugal 1s he has sworn by them (and carbon filters lol). But those inlines still do a great job! Cant wait till you start this 1 off! Where are you gonna buy your LED light(s) from? Will be nice to see what they can do

I already got my light on the way its got to be put together then sent here from china so some time to go try aliexpress.com if you want one. I would get a centrifugal but im a poor student so cant afford one .

Sweet man, I already have a 400watt HPS setup and grow tent but it will be interesting to see how the LED performs, how many watts LED are you buying? I went down to SOG today and bought a 600mm X 5metre roll of panda film for $12 and stuck it on the walls to reflect some more light

Nice that sounds like a good spectrum, I heard these LEDs are a bit low on lumens and the plants tend to stretch a bit but I guess with enough wattage and the right spectrum they could be really effective!

well i have 4xt5s in the room also so im hopping they add a bit more light yea
and i reckon ill improve every grow ill get my pound a plant goal

Tru that man, where'd you get the T5's from? I need some cheap 2 foot tubes for a veg box im going to build for cloning in and vegging out plants before putting them into the greenhouse or possibly my grow tent if i end up setting her up Was going to buy some from sog or easy grow... My box will be homemade LxWxH 800x500x1000 and will go in my greenhouse room opposite where the plants are

Its a hydroponics grow shop in new lynn they got a website www.easygrow.co.nz, basically stock all the same stuff as SOG but the prices are cheaper and a few different brands
Sweet Im gonna shop around online because the 2 tube 2 foot aquarium fixture fluros at SOG are 100 bux and about 80 bux for the standard 2 tube 2 foot fixture and I think I need 2 *2 bulb* fixtures so cant afford to buy from grow shops lol
