Use the soil Cubes Meant for Cloning, you Will Need a DOME unless your using a bubble cloner. they sell a Cloning Tray/Dome/& soil cubes for like 30$

i would invest in a heated dome makes it much easier. also if your growing in soil start your clones in jiffy pellets/peat pucks http://www.scotplantsdirect.co.uk/growing-needs/propagation-materials/jiffy-pellets-and-trays/jiffy-7-pellets-33mm-50-per-pack/prod_96.html then you can see the roots sticking through, once rooted you put the pellets straight into the soil. there's plenty of videos on-line for taking clones, all i use is 3x 8 watt t5 lights until they are rooted, or 1 20 watt cfl will do, they don't need much light so don't use your hps light.

I use coco coir in 16 oz. cups without a humidity dome and I have taken clones up to 15" tall in this and I hardly ever misted them, they all root in less than 2 weeks, some in 3 days but my LA does takes a little longer than most my other strains to root & veg, dunno? Since using this method I've knocked a week of veg off all my clones.
