1st Time grow ever..please help...pics...

Hi all....new to site but have enjoyed reading and self-educating(much needed). We are totally inexperienced and did this as a last resort due to rising costs and fixed disability income. Pics are from 8/14/2010. Started indoors and put in ground June 1st. Soil is a mix of composted maure, perlite and bagged store bought. Fert with Miracle Grow and yesterday started fert of K-Gro 15-30-15@ 50%.Has been extremely hot and humid with large amounts of rain. Ph levels are normal 6.5. Nute levels were good except Phos..a bit low. We are forced to work with what we have on hand and are scrambling to find a homemade pesticide recipe that doesn't need to be rinsed off. Plant location makes that impossible. Any help is so very appreciated. Thanx much

Your plants look good but something is munching on them. Grasshopper love my mary jane so i am using neem oil which they hate. I wil also use organocide up until two weeks to harvest. Should help with other bugs and bud rot.

from what i can see the spots definitely look like a bug problem....neem oil is good to use....I don't have too much experience using the neem oil but i don't think you have to remove it from the leaves after usage.
the discoloration of the leaves is probably due to some nute deficiency....which....I can only guess and say magnesium....i think...get a second opinion or do some more research

The discoloration is a Magnesium deficiency, just beginning, but it could be a combination of things. I use a product called Ironite that contains a ton of micronutrients. It can't burn your plants. It will fill in any shortages, except NPK.

It looks like you have slugs. The small holes in the leaves I'm not sure about.

I'm finding Azamax to be effective for most insect problems. You might give it a try.

Yeah you have something munching on them, may be nat, mites, could be alot of shit. You can tell cus you have those brown spots on your leaves, what they do is suck out the sap or whatever in your leaves. What I would do is go get an organic bug spray from your local hydo shop or any hardware store carrys them. Read the back they usualy kill like 50 different kinds of harmfull bugs. And your neem oil doesn't need to be rinsed off. You just delute it in water and spray on your plants. But whatever you spray it with do it at dusk or when your lights are about to go off.

Oh and pick up some snail/slug poison, it should come in pellet form so sprinkle that around your plants, not in your planters but on the ground.

Thanks to all of you kind folks for your input. Found out that the neem oil is working quite well. Had to pull 1 of the plants cuz it was just destroyed. All the rest are looking healthier since we started to use the neem.
