1st time grower looking for opinions

This is my 1st grow, im using cfl lights about 4 in total 2 warm light 2 reg and i got 1 walmart florescent light running as well. Im basically running on a tight budget so i dont have any great grow box/tent just my closet but yea check this out any advice to make the overall product turn out better will help.

ive been growing these from seed for exactly 1 month and 2 days and have been just watering it as the soil gets dry. So far I feel like im doing a good job, but id like to be able to yield atleast 1 ounce dry per plant (ideally 2oz). Id like to know how much more light do i need, so far i got 2x 23watt cfl's 2 40+ watt warm light cfl and the one florescent tube light 75watts, also at what height should i flower these girls at? (taking into account i dont want them to be taller then 3ft in the end considering i heard they can double or even triple in size when flowering). Also should i buy bigger pots and transplant them ? (which i have done with 2/3 plants once alrdy).

they say 1 gallon of soil per foot of growth.

for 1 oz of yield per plant, and you don't want big plants top them. twice, to get 4 main stems

do you know what a node is?

You'll probably want more light for flowering. Bring the lights closer to the plants, around two inches from the tops. If you want to keep them around three feet total then flower when they are around a foot tall. Or you could try LST, do a search on the site, lots of great threads that can explain it better than I can. If you plan on keeping them small you could probably get away with the containers they are in now. Good luck!

if not read up,

take the new growth at a node, and cut off the growth. this will cause the growth of the node split into two, making two stems.

after the 4th node of these new stems, top it again.

they will split into two,

making 4 stems.

At the first topping, the two stems that start coming out use LST or tying the branches to keep the plant low. keep LST throughout this second branch, trying to achieve a nice even canopy, until the second topping.

after 1 or two weeks of this second toping, or after the second topping is healed, put the lights in 12/12.

this should make your plant have 4 main colas

and several smaller colas.....


you will also need more light.

get 2 more clamp lights, 4 more 42 watters, 2 y splitters, and an extender.

yeah i know what a node is, i wasnt too sure as to when to top the plants tho so ill be doing that today since im gonna flower them when they reach about 1 foot they got about 4 inches to go. Ill keep some more pictures posted as they reach the flowering stage when i get 4 main colas, thnx for the responses

hey nice grow im on my first grow also. yea topp them cux i dint top mines and now 2 weeks of flowering i have to supercrop 1 of my babies ;( but she seems to b fine
