1st time grower please look at my plants & tell me what i need to do. ; )

in finding a problem in anything. you always start off with symptoms then start with the easiest cheapest solutions. i grew a tree. it was 8 feet tall and 15-20 feet around. growing weed doesn't have to be some science. a plant needs water and light. sure, you can set the "perfect" conditions and that could and probably improve the quality greatly. but it's not needed. and if you can't pinpoint ph symptoms, how can you prove there are any? your argument is flawed. and you are just passing things you've heard. like the hanging your plants upside down to dry so the thc drains to the buds myth. it's just pseudo-science that was made up.

It appears they need more light. With respect to switching them to flower I usually wait until my plants are 4 weeks old but you may have to veg a bit longer as yours aren't big enough yet. At least that's my opinion.

Uhhh "Friendly"person... I am delighted that you have grown trees. So happy for you that you haven't had pH issues with your tap water. That is some fine tap water you have... and I offer you a truly heartfelt congratulations on that. For those of us who do not have perfect pH tapwater... we DO NOT KNOW IT... unless we test.

Yes. People grow without ever considering pH. Some of them very successfully. Like you. (Again... MUCH congratulations on that. Really, you're a great grower who has great tap water. I mean that).
Those who have a pH problem will never know it until they test. Simple as that.

Perhaps you missed the part where I said "I didn't know I had a pH problem til I GOT A METER"... and that after correcting the pH, the problem was solved. This is first hand info.
I've never said a word about hanging plants upside down. Back away from the bong.

Friendly. I am passing on what made the difference between a pathetic harvest... and lush harvests after the discovery. I don't really have time to waste arguing with you about my own results I've experienced. You are quite right I'm sure. pH is never a problem and shouldn't be a concern... Oh grower of a great big marijuana tree. so sorry for suggesting that pH should be considered. Forgive me?

i didn't say that. you are assuming. and making dumb generalizations. i asked a question that you could not answer. but because im not a dumb ass. i researched it. ph effects the plants ability to consume nutrients. different nutrients don't get absorbed at different phs. there are specific phs that are best for each nutrient. the average is 6.8 or something. but generally you won't have any problems if your ph is from about 5-8ish. phchartys0.jpg here is a pretty little chart so your dumb ass can understand. thanks. i wasn't being a dick but you got annoying. have fun with your bro science. there is an optimal ph which is like 6-7 where all nutrients will be absorbed at efficient amounts. dat proof.

I NEVER SAID THAT PH DIDN'T MATTER. I AM SAYING IT'S NOT AS IMPORTANT AS YOU MAKE IT OUT TO BE. there is the assumption you continue to make. you can't understand flat out english lol. but, i asked why. and i found the reason. THE OPTIMUM PH is 6-7ish. BUT YOUR PLANT WILL STILL GROW WELL IF IT'S BETWEEN 5-9. the caps may get your attention. cause you're dull minded. when you make a claim and someone questions you, you should provide proof. not everyone is a simple fuck like you and just accepts things that dumb asses say. alright you two, i get both of your sides, but i just don't think this is the place to argue it.. just my $.02, but here is some new member of the site who's never grown before and you two are arguing over something she probably has no clue about, nor does she probably care about..
again, just my $.02...

but to the op, i'd go to a store, pretty much any store that sells household stuffs will carry them, and get a few of those spiral shaped bulbs, cfl's, in the biggest wattage you can find them in.. get some of them and put them within about an inch or so of the plants..
you can usually pick up a four pack of them for idk, maybe $20 or so..



these are the bulbs i'm talking about.. :D

OK, just this once, I'll give in. My plants turned yellow as hell.. almost white... indicating an iron deficiency. I bought a meter and determined that my water was pH 8.2...
I began lowering the pH to 6.3 and the plant became green, happy and wonderful. Does this satisy your demand for proof. I did not accept things that "bro's" said... I accepted the reading of my meter... and the results achieved upon correcting the pH problem. OK Bro? Happy now Friendlymotherfucker?

LOL thanks you this is helpful. I guess i will try walmart. or should i go to like hardware store. ill look online i suppose. Will my plants still live though if I dont replant them?

ooops, i forgot to mention, yah, they'll be fine if you don't replant them... a slight breeze from a small fan will help the limp dick they have going on now..
also, yah, walmart is fine they have these in spades and probably fairly cheaply... look on the package for the wattage and try and buy the largest wattage ones you want...

they also come in different k ratings, which is the color of the bulbs like bright white and what not.. some where on the box it will say something like 6500k or 2700k.. the 6500k are what you want for vegging, what you're doing now, and the 27's are good for flowering.. imo, you can mix and match the 65's and the 27s, meaning you can have say 2 of the 65;s and two of the 27s for either phase of growth and they'll be fine.. :D
