Hi, I’m a first time grower and she’s been doing great from the start. I don’t have much grow space so I heard topping is a great way of keeping a plant short wide and bushy. I’m not quiete sure if I topped correctly ? Can anybody help ? ? ? image.jpg

That looks correct however when I type I usually grow them 9 notes up and the top back down to the fourth note if you don't have a lot of room don't talk too much because the more bushier the plant gets the more light you will need in the morning trance you will need to keep the plant healthy. If you're going to talk more than once wait 3 weeks before topping to make sure the plant doesn't get over stressed. As far as how many times you want to top all depends on how bushy you want to plant for every one time you top you'll grow two new girl theory is keep that in mind cuz it can escalate very quickly.

If you look at the node just below where you topped, you will see 2 shoots growing out from in between the main stalk and the fan leaves. Those are the growth tips of that node growing out.

It looks like you topped the plant fine, but may have clipped the growth tips on the node you cut -- i dont see them.

The fan leaves are NOT the critical part, it is the growth tips which grow the plant after topping. So you may want to top that node off you topped (top to the next node down) and be sure when doing so you cut above where the growth tips are coming out.

Topping by itself will not limit the plant height. Topping makes the plant split, giving you an opportunity to TRAIN the plant to be flat!

Google LST, low stress training and you will have the tools needed to control the height. Be gentle and gradual when training the plant as a beginner, i broke a few branches learning!

It's not INCORRECT...

But you can cut a bit more off. Cut the main stem, just below those top 2 fan leaves.

If you look at the node below, you will notice small leaves growing out from where the stem of the fan leaves meet the main stem. Those will become your 2 new tops. So the fan leaves and bit of main stem just above them arent necessary

The op did it at the right node, no lower man. The only thing I can recommend to the op is leave a bit more stem where you cut so it dries above the node not at the node, it can cause problems if too stubby. Otherwise looking good.
