1st time growers starting genetics

Since I don't have much else to add to the growing discussion at this time (still setting up my grow area and prepping for my 1st grows) I thought I'd just post up my seeds/stock in hopes that anyone interested in doing so would post up their experience and/or impressions of these strains. I've got high hopes I'll find a few really good medicines out of these. Any tips specific to certain strains would be much appreciated.

And last but not least I've got about 6 seeds from a sack of unknown skunky that we liked a LOT this summer.... hoping to breed it at some point with something else above after I get a few grows under my belt.

Someone did their homework I see. I like your list. Some tough choices here. Sweet Skunk for me wasn't very high yielding at all, but I never really got it dialed in. Stretchy and low odor. But it packs a good punch. Sativa dominant for sure. Everyone who tried it liked it a lot. 2 females and both were very frosty and pretty similar. You can probably find an amazing plant in this line and I will run them again (actually I am running them again now along with my Sugar Punch). It's going to be a 10-12 week strain depending on your tastes.

The hybrids are probably actually better quality and I've not seen a bad grow report, but I wanted to try something really sativa dominant as it's my preference. I wasn't disappointed. I think I'd go with Skunkberry as one choice. I also ran Northern Lights. Nice smoke, true to the original. I killed it though as it wasn't strong enough for me. My tolerance is high and the buzz only lasted maybe an hour. Nice warm all over euphoric buzz. People with lower tolerance liked it a lot and even I liked it a lot but like I said I had other varieties offering similar but stronger. That said the plants were all pretty similar, but not the same. Had 4 of them. Christmas tree like growth. Good internodal spacing. A bit leafy but easy to trim. I think if you hunted through his NL you would find something pretty incredible though. There was enough variation there for me to think that if you ran 50 seeds you'd find something as good as anything from other lines. The buzz is really pleasant too. Low odor if that's a concern.

Skunk was the same, except it had pretty stretchy internodal spacing (which helped contribute to the lower yield, as well as being very single cola dominant unless topped which I did not do and never do running a plant the first time intentionally at least lol). Slightly more challenging to trim.

Sage & Sour has a lot of good reviews. I've smoked some amazing MK Ultra that I put easily in my top 10 list all time and maybe my favorite indica. That said, I have no clue how much hunting is required and I have no idea which line is better to look through the regular beans or the feminized and I haven't seen or searched for a lot of grow reports. I think I would have gone with regs though (gut feeling).

Holy Grail Kush has a lot of loyal supporters. I haven't tried it or grown it but it would be one I'd probably consider based on reviews.

A lot of folks like Pineapple Express as well. I actually have a few in veg ATM although I am sort of wondering if I shouldn't have run something else. But hey, you never know? Some folks have been disappointed with these. I guess there's a fair bit of variability.

I don't think I've seen an unfavorable report on HSO's Blue Dream. Good on them. I probably wouldn't run it, rather opting to make my own version instead. :)

I think I'd definitely run that Skunkberry though... that's the only DEFINITE I can offer. I think you will see great heterosis and fantastic plants will result.

Nice list! Done many of the kushes from DNA. In fact, running my last OGK from the RP.
I like your idea of running northern lights, been thinking of it lately.

"I've smoked some amazing MK Ultra that I put easily in my top 10 list all time and maybe my favorite indica"

That is so true! A grower I use to buy off of had an amazing cut as well. Guy lost that specific cut and due to demand had to dig out another nice cut. Actually had some up until yesterday, pretty damn close to his last cut... I would be lying if I said I didn't miss that one cut.

ETA. I am not one to chase cuts, but his original mkultra would have been beautiful in my garden but I wasnt growing at the time

Nice list dude. I've grown the Northern Skunk from Peak Seeds and really loved it but I had to get rid of it because my carbon filter could not keep up with the odor. It was a sweet/melon skunky odor. You could smell that shit a half mile down the road. I think you will like the Kali Mist x Bubblegum from Serious Seeds as well. I have not grown this cross, but I have grown out many seeds from each of the parents and both were very good.

I might take the boss hog off the list if your looking for A+, although it is easy to grow I rate mine a C+,B-. It didn't have any chem smell whatsoever it was fruity, frosty .. but the nugs were small golfballs. Not really a winner in my circle just letting you know.

Thanks for the feedback guys...
I've tried to do as much research as possible, sifted thru a lot of info on quite a few sites trying to get at least a limited feel for whats what with some of the genetics. I'm hoping the extra time spent learning as much as I can about this, in addition to as much as possible about all the other factors that go into growing quality medicine before I start, will pay off. The good news is I find all this shit very interesting! I used to smoke weed, along with a lot of other alcohol and drug use - then I stopped everything for 20 years.... started using cannabis again (my ONLY medicinal or recreational substance now) this past January - a LOT has changed - lol.

I am looking forward to the Skunkberry and the others from Peak but I figure I'll run mostly the Fems the 1st grow or 2. After that I hope to have a little more space, experience and knowledge. I'd like to perpetuate most of these strains via cloning, gradually weeding out strains and phenos and replacing them with new until I have a nice lineup of high quality meds to serve a variety of purposes, needs and ailments. I was thinking of running most of the reg seeds in outdoor growing season just so I could, hopefully, pull out the males from a few of these strains and guerrilla plant them somewhere, and assuming they make it and seem like good genetic specimens, collect some pollen and try my hand at some homemade crosses. I think ALL of the peakseeds stock has potential for breeding.

I'm continuing to look at other strains too and compiling a little wishlist as I go along. A few that I'd like to try or want to look closer at =

Super lemon haze (GHS)
NYC diesel (Soma)
Emdog (HSO) *strictly based on the release hype - havent seen any grow or smoke reports on this yet
Grand daddy purple (GDP)
Williams Wonder (Sickmeds)
True Blueberry (DJ Short)
Cheese (??)

It would be awesome to at some point have good representatives of as many of the main genetic "branches" as possible. Its definitely not always easy to figure out what the true/accurate representations of the various strains are.... everybodies got a white widow strain, some kind of og kush copy, sour diesels and hazes out the ying yang. I'm most interested in those strains that most closely resemble the original strain that made it well known to start with, if THE original isn't available in seed form and assuming somebodies knockoff version isn't heads and shoulders above the strain its copying.

Anyway, thx again

Thanks for the input. The boss hog were freebies from attitude. I'm not too enthusiastic about it actually. I feel lukewarm at best towards the sativa house mix and the landrace thai also but u never know - might find the makings of the next chemdawg.

I've Grown the White Russian, Pineapple express, blue dream, and og kush. They are all dank except PE. PE smelled and look great just not strong high if your a everyday smoker. White Russian YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY. Great Yield and STRONG dank smoke. Also it will branch like MAD if you LST great plant to take clones from. Blue Dream is nice and easy to grow mine was a nute junkie but only downfall smoke was not all that great after 2nd time smoking it and just easy as hell to build a tolerance to. Last OG kush I have grown Reserva Privada and HSO both are great dank smoke and stinks badly carbon filter needed but yield is not all that great you have to veg for atleast 40 days with LST to get a nice yield. I got 61 grams from my Og kush in a 3 gallon pot with organic soil LST from node 6 till 2nd week of flower. Veg for 42days then flower for 10.5 weeks I would suggest Reserva Privada Skywalker OG and Dinafem Blue Widow btw.

Nice choices fren...have two HGK running as the last of her (besides crosses I have made) and have to say she is very nice all around, likes to eat, very forgiving, fat dense nuggies everytime. Been growin it for the last year (with others) and found two distinct phenos. One being rotten meat, the other lemon pledge (heavy stinker) both are as described above. Topping will give lots o' tops and yield better IMO. I run for six weeks from seed then top her the day I put in flower to create a bouqet of nice heavy nuggs. One of my favs so far...have pics in my album. Running the boss hogg, purple dream, sour kosher, martian kush right now, so no input, also have pics of them...good luck, be safe!

There's some excellent gear on that list. You really can't go wrong with Serious gear. I have several friends who say the pineapple express is one of their alltime favorites. There's a lot of fire in the BD S1s. I love the clone and I'm not surprised her offspring are so good.
Sage and sour is very good as well.

I have grown both Sour Kush and Pineapple Express. They are both stellar in my opinion. both grew easy and not nutrient sensitive. Sour Kush is one of my favorites to date. Easy to grow, responds well to topping, yields good, and the high is wonderful!! Very relaxing and does not reduce you to a completely confused pile of worthless shit! But be warned. SHE STINKS! My grow tent keeps all odors in tact. And the circulation and carbon filtering keep it totally under control. But when harvest time came and I had to remove her from the tent, Sweet Jesus! And while drying it reeked the most. But I would not let that deter me at all. Primo Smoke!!

Pineapple Express has a more sativa buzz. Very cerebral and energetic. My daytime go to strain. Keeps my back pain under control. Easy to grow, yields good, nice smell, pungent but not overpowering like the SK was. Finishes in 9-10 weeks. Beautiful buds if you're into that. I could give fat babies dick about bag appeal!

I've grown 2 RP strains. Kandy Kush, and Sour Kush. Got Kosher Kush in the dirt at the moment. I'm very pleased with their products. I think you will be happy.
