lookin real nice. especially for your first grow. keep it up
Thanx, I got alot of help here, thanx to ppl like yourself, that's why there not stretchin...now...and I already have more lights (4ft hood w/4 t5 HO 6500k @ 20,000 lumens) then I'll put the double bulb 4 footers on the sides and "Y" attachments for the single CFLs to make them doubles to hang inside...I'm sure I'll need more cuz all 6 of my babies are takin off real well, "with a little help from my friends"Very nice. Not a lot of stretch, good color. You have it under wraps. You may want to begin increasing the number of bulbs that are in your array, a nice mix of 2700k 23w (or higher) and 5100k/6500k 23w (or higher.)
You'll want to fill those pots more, in the future, and plant to the top, so that they don't have to reach out of their pots to get that all important light!
On another note, do you think a full spectrum is better than straight daylight spectrum...I've heard both, but stronger on just 6500k, but was told if I do a full that I should go at least 2-6500k to 1-2700k ratio...I have to get the 2700k anyway, I'm thinkin' about tryn' it...Very nice. Thanx, it's my first time growin' & I'm hopin to get it right the first time..lolThose look nice!
Unless you already have the 4' bulbs and fixtures, the long tubes like that are really inefficient compared to CFL's for size compared to output.Thanx, I got alot of help here, thanx to ppl like yourself, that's why there not stretchin...now...and I already have more lights (4ft hood w/4 t5 HO 6500k @ 20,000 lumens) then I'll put the double bulb 4 footers on the sides and "Y" attachments for the single CFLs to make them doubles to hang inside...I'm sure I'll need more cuz all 6 of my babies are takin off real well, "with a little help from my friends"
Here's a pic of my first attempt before I lowered the hoods and singles..

I vegged with 52w of 5000k, and already had a couple 2700k, so I threw those in there too, for 46w.On another note, do you think a full spectrum is better than straight daylight spectrum...I've heard both, but stronger on just 6500k, but was told if I do a full that I should go at least 2-6500k to 1-2700k ratio...I have to get the 2700k anyway, I'm thinkin' about tryn' it...
Yep just picked them up this morn..(2700k CFLs)..and the blue "pots"...lmao...are maxwell house coffee containers, and that's a built in handle on the side..I think adding some 2700K would make sence, sun does not give a plant 6500K only.. it has wider spectrum, besides you could use that later in flower.. One question about those blue pots. in some pictures they look that they narrow in diameter at the very top. That would make transplanting somewhat uncomfortable unless you cut them. or is this just different angle im looking? cause some blue pots do not look bended inside at the top )
I got the hoods cuz I figured I could line them up directly under it,(like 2 inches above them) and use the CFLs for the sides.(which is how I have it now) The 2 hoods together (4 bulbs) put out 12,000 lumens @ 53 watts a bulb...cheap..I will add more CFLs as I go, to sides, and will heed ur advice again 'oh wise one' ..lol...and put sum 2700k in there...but really all ur advice so far has been most excellent thanx....here's how I have it setup....Unless you already have the 4' bulbs and fixtures, the long tubes like that are really inefficient compared to CFL's for size compared to output.
Thanx, ya I didn't know about fillin it up cuz I've grown a whole "one"...lol...chasin the sun in the backroom windows, and it stretched so much that I transplanted it deeper...figured I'd have to do the same here but left sum out to fill in...now I don't need to fill in...lol...thanx to you guys given out the good word...can I get a Hallelujah!!! No but seriously thank you for the advice, and I just added my 27s, damn it's bright in there..lol..Very nice. Not a lot of stretch, good color. You have it under wraps.
