Ready to flip.jpg

Hi everyone, my first grow in 15 years and my first SCROG. One white widow, three GG#4 , coco, 600w + 54w 660nm. Loads of vertical space available in tent. Planning to add 20w 730nm after stretch and 5w UVB once buds get established. Wanting to maximize yeild. Should i flip now or wait a bit longer?

Also, lower stems that were very "leggy" getting to the canopy are now growing nodes every 2cm having reached the top. If i flip now will they continue growing new nodes during the stretch, or do i need to grow all my bud sites before flipping ?

I think they are supposed to be that size above the trellis come harvest time. One cola per trellis hole.

I would set up another trellis net around 6 inches above the canopy they will stretch A lot during the first 3 weeks of flower.
And yes they are ready to flip it to flower

Thanks for the replies, did some improvements to my stealth levels (sealed up bedroom to get negative pressure through whole room not just tent), and with a more leisurely tie down session can see screen is clearly ready for bud. Much preparation now required (taking clones for next grow and pre flip defoliation). Goal is to yield in two grow cycles enough pot to last me 3 years. (seems to be a reasonable limit for storage of vacuum sealed well cured bud). Got a long way to go before reaching that goal tho...

Plan to add that second screen for support of weak GG stems, evening up inconsistent screen tip density, and airflow.

off topic,...but I would be nervous about that humidifier that close to that plant. I would think that would be a powdery mildew hazard. just food for thought...*edit* well i guess you have that fan in front of it so probably nothing to worry about

Thanks for the tip, i do not have tent humidity comfortably under control. Ambient humidity is 60 - 80% at the moment where i live, but under my lights it drops to 20% without the humidifier. Depending on where i put my Hygrometer in the tent it reads from 80% on the floor, to 40% right under the light. 3 fans in the tent i would think would be enough to spread the moisture around! Im venting into my attic, would rather not be sending all that water up there, but its high summer here and attic is very well ventilated.

Water uptake seems correct for coco so im assuming things are not badly out of whack. Do you have any suggestions for placement of Hygrometer for most meaningful reading ? (I know this question comes up all the time, will google it :) )

I just hang my hydrometer sensor right above the canopy of the plants. Only bad thing I've heard about venting in the attic is the possibility of black mold. But sounds like you already knew it isnt optimal, but we gotta do what we gotta do sometimes
