1st Trainwreck Grow

Hey im new here and just wanted to share my grow Im currently growing 4 Train-wreck... not sure if im allowed to post seed company's so ill leave it out.

Two of the plants are in 25l pots and two in just 5l pots, i wanted to see if it would make a difference in flowering time and yield.

Im using a 600W bulb with a digital ballast set to 660W. And a soiless mix of soil (makes no sense to me :s) and im using House and garden food

During the veg stage the lamp was just running at 400W, They were vegd for 6 weeks and on week 4 i topped each plant. At first i was sceptical about doing this as i know the main cola is the best..... but now i have like 4 main colas on each plant and there looking sweet!

Knowing there nearly on week five (28 days today) and it only takes around 8 weeks to grow im wondering if i maybe behind on bud There are a few trichromes growing all over the bud and on the leaves its just hard to see, i took these pics with my iphone

Here are a few pics. I will keep this updated right until i cut these lil bad-boys down. i will then report back with wet and dry weights, and a smoke report

breeder name is fine to give and may actually get you more specific advice--in this case, of particular interest to you, average flowering time. from what i can tell, most trainwrecks from seed take around 9wks to flower, so you're more like halfway. Bud density should begin building more rapidly now, i think. What size pots are these girls in? rootbinding and nutrient availability will be some limiting factors on yield. not familiar with house and garden but if you're girls are looking this good, just keep on keeping on. You could look into adding 1-2Tbsp/gal (or 10ml/L) unsulphured blackstrap molasses; this may have the added benefit of bringing out terpene and flavinoid expression for a richer taste and aroma as well.

Thanks man 2 of them are in 25 l pots and 2 are in just 5 l pots. The seeds are greenhouse. They do smell quite a bit already, i started this strain because i smoked some before... the smell of trainwreck reminds me of horse manure in all honesty lol but that smoke is to die for ! one of the strongest strains ive smoked, i just hope mine are as good. Knowing there only half way has made my day! thankyou

Just a little update and a little more info..

I didn't state weather i use filtered or plain tap water, and the answer is plain old tap water. I never test my ph either which i know is kinda bad

I flushed all plants today using plain tap water. I flushed the 25 l pots with 20 ls of water and the 5 l pots with 2 l of water until the water was running out the bottom of the pot was clear.

On the official Greenhouse seeds grow video for trainwreck they say this helps at day 28 of flowering, also to leave it dry right out for a few days. so we shall see.
Anyone know if leaving the soil dry right out actually helps or will it do more harm than good? I've heard that it allows a lot of air to the roots.



I have also added a 600w CFL lamp to the cupboard door ( now a total of 1200w of light for these babies ) because the plants on the end wernt getting alot of light on the outside. Its getting a little over crowded. Ill take some more pics next Sunday to show the bud development on week 6

the theory on whether to keep soil saturated or let it dry is something that I believe is a personal preference. I've heard bad things said about both.

Hey just an update and a few pics for you guys. My babies are coming on great

3 out of 4 of the plants seem to be the same. One on the other hand is very different, its a lot bigger and rather than growing tops, its growing like individual buds.
Trainwreck seems to respond very well to topping, i have 4 lovely colas on each plant. Also a pic of the food I,m using seems to be amazing



excuse my GHETTO door... focus on the good stuff. If i label plants 1-4 from left to right you can see that 1,3 and 4 are the same pheno and 2 is different. The crystals on it seem flat like they have all been painted on and the ones on the other 3 stand up tall.

The odd one out

The leaves are alot greener too on that last plant. Which plant(s) are how trainwreck should be?

Cant wait to see which smokes better. Still a few weeks yet but the smell is so good already, sometimes makes my mouth water when im tending to them, is that normal or weird?

How many days you have left my friend?

Not sure to be honest when it looks ready its ready, but roughly 14 -21 days

When counting weeks of flowering.. do you count from the 1st day that you switch to 12/12 of from the day you see the 1st flower?
