Yea i figured that. I had her on like 4ml nute strength and read about the lucas formula and just went straight to 8ml dosage. Lessoned learned...im just gonna gradually increase only to the point of leaves turning dark green then stop before tips burn in future.just looks like some burn too me...looks like youve got it under control now....nice grow
I am also scrogging my single Tangerine Dream in a WaterFarm, and am concerned about the stretch.UPDATE
Ok I encountered some bumps along the way.
Underestimated the 12/12 stretching Some Tops are now 5-6 inches from bulb.
Next time switch to 12/12 at 25% screen covered or extend box higher
Did some LST to reposition some tops to the sides instead of directly under intense light area.
Luckily I have a fan blowing up into the hood which is preventing scorching on tops.
*Placed Hand above Tops near bulb for 1 min. Light warmth nothing hot*
Thanks Serapis, so if I follow you, this thought is partially incorrect as it does not take the flower stretch (plant elongation) into account:Not until you flip the 12/12 cycle will you see the flowering stretch. If you have a variety you know is going to stretch a lot, flip to 12/12 when you still have room to work the screen.
Thanks for getting back to me......especially with your Hands on experience.dishinit,
The TD is a real strether. Dont wait until 80%. Also i would recommend going light on the nutes during the transition to 12/12 to help control stretch especially if your TD pheno is looking more sativa dominant like mine.
I waited to long before the switch and didnt cut back on the nutes.
I had all my growth pulled under the screen and they still strecthed as much as they did for about 3-3.5 weeks i believe. I didnt measure but they stretched almost 2ft for my main branches.
I am running into problems in flower now. I overferted and im now struggling to keep her under control. I have yellowing on mid leaves and browning. Currently feeding just ph water for now. It seems my TD doesnt really like ferts in the flower stage unlike in veg she was a real hungry mother.
Post away....the more info/pics of TD the more helpful. Thanks for getting back to me......especially with your Hands on experience.
Really sorry to hear you ran into a bump so late in the game. Sounds like your headed the right direction with a good flush & lowered nutes. I suspect the TD, with a 10 week flower time, suffers from an N deficiency about mid point and later during flower if all your giving her is high rates of bloom.
If your having mid plant fan leaf yellowing, look for a way to add back some N, without overshooting your overall target ppm.
My plan is to start with 50/50 Grow/Bloom mix at the flip and gradually dial back the Grow to zero about the 5th or 6th week.
So a few more ScROG questions............Were you able to train main branches during the flower stretch, mine main branches are getting thicker and only have real flexibility in the last 3" to 4" (maybe a scootch more).
I was originally thinking of an X pattern on my screen, and filling in the middle with trained undergrowth/side branches, achieving this by pinching/chopping off the ends of my main stems as they reach the outer points in my pattern.
Now with the stretch you are referring to, I am wondering if I can train the main stems to follow the edge of my screen.
The problem being the lack of pliability as I get farther into flower. I suppose I could "try" to tie a main stem off and direct the pliable part to gently force a curve, and may need to do so right now.
Would it be alright to post a photo (after figuring out how to do that) of my scrog attempt here in your journal so that you may look and advise with some more certainty?
I really appreciate both you and Serapis help.

Regarding scrog training..
I was training the growth in flower especially during 12/12. The initial 12/12 stretching is when you are gonna really start to do alot of training/maintaining existing growth and the tons of new growth that will follow. You may have to do some lst to your main stems. Its a good idea of training the mains along the edges. You should see alot of side branching once you go to 12/12. If it doesnt look like it now it will be during the stretch.
So once you figure out where to position your mains get ready to train the new growth that should xplode out of them.
Good luck and hope your TD turns out great.
Oh btw did you cut some clones? I took four cuttings in veg and they all made it thru. I now have another 7 cut from flower under the screen. Still hoping those root.
I thought I'd give an example of the stretch I experienced over the last 2-1/2 weeks....Forced me to tear down old, and build new 4' X 4' screen....I keep thinking she's slowing down....but maybe that's just being pessimistic.OK, lets see if this works....Pic from 3 days ago............View attachment 1550005
I'm following your posts, and would venture to say your stretch will be less than mine. Your TD pheno type, coupled with your pre screen training is going to be something really special. I look forward to following your grow.ok dish, i'm joining the scrogg club....lol, looking at yours stretch im a lil worried i started late on mine, well see, looking nice n healthy up there
thats cool, i'm following too...lolI'm following your posts, and would venture to say your stretch will be less than mine. Your TD pheno type, coupled with your pre screen training is going to be something really special. I look forward to following your grow.
