2 gallon pot?

If I wanted to put my auto seeds in 2 gallon pots from beginning to end is it still plausible to get an ounce per plant? Considering their lives are shorter? My reasoning is to get as many plants under my lights as possible..

Well, I'm a noob still and not much of an auto grower... but, I did just throw 2 freebie autos in with my last crop. They were both in #2 pots, which is technically less than 2 gallons. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how big they got, and mind you these girls were started under 216w of T5 lighting, 24/7, for 5 weeks and then put into my flower tent with my photo-period girls under 600w HPS, 12/12, for the last 5 weeks. I know that isn't what autos like and my yield would suffer, I did my homework. But they were freebies and I thought I'd throw them in the back, see what happened. The Dinafem Cheese Auto went 10 weeks, got to be a bushy 24", and yielded 14.6 g dry. The Kannabia Mikromachine only went 9 weeks because it looked so pathetic at 39" weak inches of lankiness... Charlie Brown Xmas tree style. Sad... only yielded 9.6 g dry. But these were fairly neglected. Just did enough to keep them alive, and that ain't saying much. Mild version of Lucas formula with Floranova Bloom, medium was Pro-Mix HP.

It would be better in a 5 gallon

I'm pretty sure 5 gallons for 2 months of growing is overkill. Could be wrong though.

I think your right on with this statement. 2 should be enough, could bump it up to 3 if you want

A 5 gallon can be filled and root bound if done right in a month and a half. 5 gallons will make a bigger and stronger plant it is not overkill best way to take the full potential of autos.

can't speak about autos, since haven't grown any, but i do use 2 gallon pots
the rule of thumb i've seen is 1 gallon of soil per foot of height of the plant
so 2 gallons supports a 2 foot plant, i do get somewhat bigger plants, more like 2 1/2 feet
plants do yield an oz or so of bud, provided the genetics are good yielders

If I were to grow autos, I would do so in 2g root pots from start to finish
