Hi all,
I have been reading for a few weeks now as well as other forums and i gaining plenty of useful tips. I would like to share some shots of my two, 2 week old (from seed) lowryder #2's. I hope to get one female from this pair which i will grow purely as a hobby for occasional personal use.
Here is an outline
Lighting
I am using a 300w dual spectrum cfl on 18/6 and a 120w quad led panel which i intend to use to help the flowering process. the height of the cfl is adjustable and generally sits about 4" above the plants. I have had the led panel since Tuesday and i have had it on for a couple of hours a night since. I know these lights are generally regarded to be a bit Mickey Mouse by most. I have considered the factors and it is an acceptable compromise for me. I cannot use hps as space is tight and i'm trying to be a stealth as possible. The LED panel sits at about 40o from vertical at the back of the box. i have rigged 4mm braided steel cable system so height and angle is adjustable.
The Led panel gives off very little heat and it has 3x built in fans which seem to add to the air circulation in my small grow box. I may do a diary in a few weeks showing everything in greater detail. I have put quite a bit of time and thought into this but i am a first timer and i am fully prepared to not get this right first time.
Environment
My box has 2x 80mm intake fans, 4x 40mm exhaust fans and 1x internal 150mm clip on fan for air circulation. During the daytime (06:00-24:00) Heat sits at between 24oC - 75.2oF and 29oC - 84.2oF. The high temperatures occur in the evening for about 6 hours (16:00-24:00). this is because my grow
box is in my bedroom. It is very stable during the day time. Humidity averages at about 40% and fluctuates regularly. I know this is not perfect and i am working on it
My pots are 7.5" tall, filled with 1" of clean gravel and 5" of biobiz pre-mixed soil. i have given them both 2 doses of about 20mm of biobiz veg nutrient on Monday and Thursday this week. i have mixed 5ml of biobiz with 2l of water which i let stand in the box for 24 hours. The ph of the water before i added the nutrient was between 6.5 and 7 ph. The reason behind the 5" of soil was because it sunk
over the first few days of watering. Also i expected the sprouts to grow a little taller. Then i was going to add some fresh soil when the plant gets taller. this could be a crucial factor...
Here they are. side shots first.

Do these look okay for 13 days? they both seem very healthy and strong to me. There are 2x sprouts growing on every branch where the branch meets the stem. My only concern is they look a little short. I think this is because of the small amount of soil. There is enough space for a 12" plant with sufficient head room for the light.
Thanks for reading my first post. Any advice welcome
