2 week old seedling got yellow tips

hi all im new to this and this is my first grow so please help lol

right i have made a grow box for my plant 1x1x2 ( just for 1 plant atm ) and have 3 6500k cool white spotlights and a 150w cfl in the for light and have also painted the box white.
i have a 2week old seedling inside and have not started to give nutes at all yet n dont plan too for a while just started watering with rain water but am watering 2 times a day but the temps are just right am thinking the yellow tips are an N deficiancy ( the first ever blade leaves are all yellow now aswell i thought they were ment to die off but its spead to the new leaves ) what do u guys thnk? ph is 7 by the way

Well if you are not giving that baby nutes it has to be a water or soil problem, if you are controlling the ph, I'd think that it could be either be a soil problem or over watering. Twice a day?? that sounds like too much to me. I'm no expert anyway.

A picture could be useful.

2 times a day is waaaay too much for a small plant like that. You are probably drowning it mate and the roots are probably starting to rot already !! Cut down on the waterings, about once every 2-3 days. All that light is overkill at the moment for one plant...

cheers for the reply guys i proper dont get why im having to water twice a day ither though the temps are just right but the soil looks dry and the weight indicates it needs watering when i do water it :S anyways heres some pics so please tell me what you think (they are just after watering ) the plant was doing quite well under the lights up until it started going yellow about 4 days ago

If you watered today and you feel the need to water again don't.

Allow your roots to search for the water and your plant will grow stronger.
I would say once a day at the very most depending on how much water your giving it per feeding.

yeah, the plant definitely looks like it's in mud... seriously consider watering a lot less... and keep the fluoro's about an inch from the top of the plant.

cheers for the reply guys been in this morn and it dosnt need watering so ill check tonight and see if it does then ( watered last night ) does the soil have to look literaly bone dry before i water agen? anyways let u know how i go on tonight just germinated 3 new seed soo should have atleast 1 female out of them

been to check on plant and my cfl bulb has blown orderd a new one asap and just put a 150w standard bulb in for the moment

been in this afternoon and the pot feels really light in weight and looks dry but holding off the watering like u guys said will water tonight i think though but around the edges of the pot to build up its root strength as sugested.
the plants other 2 set of leave are turning yellowish tints on the ends now aswell the pot feels warm aswell not hot but warm is this normal? the bulb is approx 4-5 inches away from the top leaves

please help guys dont wana lose my first plant

Looks like nute burn, what kind of soil are you using, if there are nutes in the soil the over watering could lead to a burn. Also get rid of that standard bulb it produces heat more than anything.
The best way to check soil is also the best way to check some pink, just stick a finger in and see how moist it is.

Forget about the watering man, it doesn't matter if the soil is dry or not, just look at the plant. A little bit of under-watering is not gonna kill her anyway. Do not water tonight and you'll see that tomorrow the plant will still be alright. You can water tomorrow morning if necessary or leave it a little bit longer.

Also it's recommended to water the plants in the morning, not at night.

And be patient, it's not gonna recover in a day, give her a few days and you will see how new leaves start growing healthy. She'll be fine.

cant be nute burn man cause i havnt even feed her any yet and the plant was fine in the soil for nearly 2 weeks just a basic compost and theres no nutes init i dont think i know about the bulb but i need something till the new cfl comes through only for the time being i can never guess right about the soil though lol just feels dry to me when it looks like it needs water

will do as suggested lince will keep an eye on her and maybe water tomorow but if she looks fine ill leave it and will try to get waterings in the mornings aswell ( got the lights on 24 hours aswell )

If the heat of the light bulb is too hot for your hand, than it is too hot for the plant.
Don't worry about underwatering the plant. It's probably better to underwater it a bit then overwater it. When you see the leaves start to droop a bit, then you know she's too dry. Unlike women, dry is better than wet.. LOLz

Over watering

Over watering is one of the biggest mistakes new growers make, reason for this is, because they feel the need to give there plant everything and will overdue a lot of things and one of them is over watering. By over watering your plant you soak the roots so much, they can’t get enough oxygen and slowly die. The plant shows signs of over watering by: Wilting, droopy look, yellow and or dead leaves falling off, which includes leaves that don’t look dead falling off. One of the best ways to tell how NOT to over water is by, picking up the pot when it is dry and then picking up the pot after you water. (This is a reason why it’s smart to use light pots.) When you water, you want to water just enough to where you see a bit of water coming out of the bottom, not gushing or pouring out. Just enough to see a little bit, then you know the plant has enough water. To prevent over watering you can either: add more perlite to your soil, add hydrogen peroxide to your water for extra oxygen, all the while killing bacteria if any in the soil. After watering, wait a few days to water. Mj plants like a good watering and then a couple days to dry out in between watering. So it’s very easy to over water. Besides the weight of the pot, another way to test if your plant needs water is to stick your index finger a couple inches into the soil. If the soil at the tip of your finger feels almost dry, then it's time to water again. The top of the soil should be allowed to dry out between waterings if it's still moist the plant does NOT need watered. You can also use a moisture meter which will tell you the level of moisture down in the soil. You can buy them at most garden supplies or hydro shops.

ive done the light bulb test tommyhobby and its perfect distance for the heat and light but like i said need this new cfl to come through asap lol will do as you said and wait for the leaves to droop abit before i water just been in this morn and she looks even worse than yesterday propa gutted hope it is to do with watering shes 3 week old today lol and all leave tips are yellow and the very bottom first born leaves are compleatley yellow look dead there that bad hope i dont lose her

taken her out of the grow box now and stuck her in a realy cool corner with the light over her just so i can keep an eye on her

water only when the top of the soil is dry as fuck not moist dry dry,.,. its really easy to overwater and overwatering is worse than underwatering

right ive taken some pictures of her this morn cause im at work early tomora and wouldnt have time as you can see all the lower leaves have yellow tips now and three of them are very slightly turning up now correct me if im wrong dosnt the means shes to warm/hot????? oooorr is it still classed as overwatering?

by the way the temps are fine
the soil looks dry but have left it alone like said and ill wait till she droops slightly one of the 3 seeds has sprouted aswell so thats kind of good news just waiting on the other 2 now

going to leave her alone now cause im fretting lol nip in in the morn tomora n check on her n will let u know how she is tomora after work thanks guys for all your help cheers driver

by the way guys does anybody know of a place thatll sell cheap coolwhite cfls in the uk thinking about buying a few more the ones ive found are like £15 for 1 75watts light bulb could the be cheaper at like a wholesalers??

The soil still looks wet on the pictures. Just give her some time to recover driver, be patience. She looks strong, I'm sure she'll be fine.

that soil doesnt look dry to me, i was doing the same as urself ((over watering)), even tho it looked dry i was wrong so started watering ever three days till she picked up and she did.... its hard but just got to listern to these guys and it will pay off
