2 Weeks from sprout seedling not looking too hot.

Hey guys, first time growing here.

This is a blue dream seedling that sprouted 2 weeks ago. I am growing under the spider farmer sf2000 light and am using Mother Earth coco/perlite as my growing medium. I have only fed her calmag one time (5ml per gallon). Other than that it has been just ph balanced water that I have applied with a sprayer and pouring. (Ph 6.0 - 6.4). Just flipped the light cycle to 18/6 a couple of days ago. I can tell she’s burnt from the calmag.

-Will the burn go away?

-What do I need to do to get her growing faster and looking all around better?

-Is there any hope, or do they looked damaged beyond repair. I still want to have a good looking plant and yield quality bud.

Any help is great.

thanks!

You do have some burn, sorry, no it isn't going anywhere, unless it gets worse. plants don't heal like we do. Most of the time the plant will just sacrifice the whole leaf and make new ones. Those first few leaves don't worry too much about, some cal-mags have nitrogen in them also and could have caused your burn. She really doesn't need anything but water till about week 3 imo. She may not look it but she is growing...down. A stall after sprouting is not uncommon. She is working on her root zone. For as much as you see her growing right now she is doing double the work in the soil. Definitely not beyond saving.
As far as your yield? Way too early to try to predict. Your environment is your biggest factor followed very closely by light. I would think your fs2000 should get you through to harvest. What are you going to be using for nutes? How are you planning to grow her? If you're going to use coco & perlite you're going to need to up pot her in about a week. And in the mean time I would research "drain to waste" techniques. I grow DWC so I can only advise so much. Quality base nutrients will get you farther than any of the additives. For 14 days old she don't look bad. She just looks like she is going, as I call it, "soil speed". These are my two newest girls, as per their tag I popped them on the 13th, put them into their bins on the 25th and this is them tonight at 15 days old.

You are growing in coco and you are only
Providing the plant calmag?

Have you even read about growing in coco?

I suggest you go and research how to grow in coco because none of the above have given you any worthwhile information.

Coco has very little nutrient reserves and should be fed from the start.

What is your source water PPM, EC or TDS?

What is the PPM EC or TDS of what you are giving them?

You should be feeding right now with your coco base nutrients at 200ppm or 0.4EC.

Coco should be fed daily to substantial run off.........I start around 3 days from sprout.
Never give plain water.
Never let the coco get dry.
Here are some 14 day old plants in coco for a comparison.

Good luck.

thank you for the response. My environmentals are good. 70-75 humidity and 75-80 degrees. I am using general hydroponics flora series and calmag plus.

Good luck.
Makes me nervous, don’t want to over feed lol. Never fed before either. It makes sense though. So from here on out I should feed every time I water? Which would be daily.

Seed and early veg - 0.4-0.6EC
Mid veg - 0.6-0.8EC feed daily starting here.
Late veg - 1.0EC
Stretch - 1.0-1.2EC
Early flower 1.0-1.4EC
Mid Flower - 1.0-1.2EC
late flower - 0.6-1.0EC

do not flush.

Feed daily.
Thank you for the response. Feed every time I water?

I skimmed through the responses but didn't see anything about the light height and % power. Are you running it at 100% and at what distance? I see a lot of stunted plants due to improper lighting in the seedling stage. Others have touched on the issues around feeding coco, I just wanted to check this angle. Good luck!

Yeah that site is great.

I’m doing my first ever grow also and have had this link bookmarked.

The 60ml syringe is great for feeding seedlings I’m glad I got one. It is weird watering so much but I’ve been following the charts on that site and my coir plant is much better than my soil ones.

I transplanted at two weeks and there were so many roots it kept the shape of the cup no problem.

There’s other articles on there about how to mix nutrients and water them. Also good links for cheap ppm/ph meters to start out with. Those things are crucial with coir.

If this is your first grow, I don’t think coco was your best choice. Like jodaman said, it’s a different ball game. You have to feed right out of the gate, and know for sure what you’re doing. You should have started with FFOF. This GDP is 7 days old.
