2 weeks into flowering. need help male or female? and other question

Hello. im new to rollitup but it seemed like the best site to interact with people and ask questions that I have. Im currently 2 weeks into flowering with 12/12 light cycle. Im growing 4 plants. Just bottom of the bag seeds. I was growing 6 but after about a month of growing the suddenly turned yellow and died in about a week. theres a couple yellow spots on these ones but I figured the nutes were too strong for the small guys so I stopped nutes for about a month. I just recently started giving them a little nutes again. im using 2 halogen 100w lightbulbs to grow. (don't make fun of my set up, im new to this) lol. I water about every 2 to 3 days when its dry 2inches down. my lights STAY off in the night cycle. Im using dyna gro nutes on them. mixing 1/4 tsp per gallon. so my question is. are they male, female, herms, or too young to tell? ive read up ALOT on ALOT of different forums and I know what to check for im just not confident and don't want to risk it til I get the hang of it. I was also wondering why they are so tall and skinny? since sprout ive kept the light 2inches from the plants but they grow all the way up to it and I don't want them to burn. so I move it up. and they get taller. lol. if you have any suggestions, even off topic suggestions or advice I would love to TAKE IT ALL IN! :) im new to this. so don't be shy but please try and explain everything as simple as possible because I don't know but about gardening or plants in general. just what ive read on forums and watched videos. please help. tyvm. Chris P:S: Ive labeled the pics A-D to be able to distinguish which plant your talking about. ty again.View attachment 2599955View attachment 2599956View attachment 2599957View attachment 2599958View attachment 2599959image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Firstly, you may be growing a sativa, which will have it's nodes further apart.
Secondly, from your images looks like all are female except for C. (You should take more photos from different angles for more assurance.)
Congratulations, 75% female... it is unfortunate that your strongest/tallest plant is a male though.

EDIT Since you uploaded better images, B looks male too.

Halogens? How are your temperatures? How close do you have the halogens to your plants? Never heard of anyone using halogens aside from joking around. Not trying to be a dick. If it works, it works. I AM curious though.

I agree that C looks like a male. And D looks like a female to me. I can't say for sure on the other two. They do look like they will be ladies, but I just can't tell for sure.

I posted more pics of the plants. @strikinghigh55 yeah I read somewhere to use them but after you said that I did some googling and yeah apparently halogens make the plants stretch tall...what lights should I use? specifically please. im not a light man. lol. and that would be great to have something that would save on energy costs too...I only have 2 slots for lights btw. Love the advice everyone keep it coming. again tyvm all.

well I know now that 2 of my plants are going to be gone because of sex. so 2 remain. if not 1. lol. but idk what kind of lights should I use for 1 or 2 plants? be specific cause this is my first grow and I don't know much except what ive read. tyvm

The light bulbs that are spiral. CFLs. The goal with CFLs is to get as much wattage (as many lights) as possible and put them within 1 or 2 inches of the plants. Ideally you want to surround the plants with them instead of putting them all above the plant. This is because they don't have much in the way of penetration power. For flowering, try to find the 'warm' bulbs. They usually have a color temperature (Kelvin) of about 2700K. Just read the specs on the package to see this info.

Before you rush out and buy a thousand CFLs though, decide how much money you are willing to invest on your lighting (arguably the most important aspect of any grow). The better the light, the better the yield and quality. High Pressure Sodium (HPS) is the most bang for your buck. If you can afford a little more initial investment ($120-$200), HPS is easily capable of paying for itself several times over with only 1 harvest.

Get on Google and do your research. Its worthwhile to make an educated purchase. Good luck.

So I cut out all the males which left me with 1 plant. I went to Walmart and bought 2 (2700k) 42w=150w cfl bulbs. Will that due for 1 plant? I put one in the middle and one on the upper portion of the plant.

It will work. Check out some other grow journals with CFLs to get ideas on placement and such. The more bulbs you can squeeze around your plant, the better.
